fluval 405I have had a fluval 405 filter for approximately 1 year now. The product is poorly designed as water leaks from the lid all the time,, very bad design

105/205/405 FiltersI have a 105,205 and a 405 filter on 2 tanks, very happy with results, The cleaning is easy and quick enough the parts are plentlyful and outputs are good, I have to clean mine twice a week due to fish loads and types of fish that i stock but did that with other filter brands too, I also have a 2xfluval heaters with no trouble, Also dave the 105 is rated at 330 filter rate not 480, The 480 is the pump output not the filter output,

Fluval 305I find the Fluval 305 a brilliant filter, given me no problems at all (1 and a half years so far) and is very easy to maintain. The trick to efficient filtration is to get the right media in the right order, put cheap aquarium filter wool (~£2 for a bag that will last you nearly a year) in the bottom two baskets for excellent (much better than the sponges) mechanical filteration and fill the other with biological media (like the biomax ceramic rings). Save the carbon that comes with the filter only for when it is needed - like removing medications. For the price, there is no better filter IMO. My next filter will be another from the 05 series, probably the 105. It should be noted that any quoted flow rates are without media and a bit exaggerated...it's the same for any manufacturer. And it's really not all that difficult to work out where to place the media or which way they water flows...

Pretty AverageRead the two reviews also here before buying this product. The 105 is meant to turn over 480 litres per hour. It does not have anywhere near this sort of output. However, this does mean that the water is spending more time in a very proficient filter.

Water route issues with Fluval 405?I have had a fluval 405 filter for approximately twelve months now. The product is poorly designed as water flow is inconsistent with that shown on its manual and contradicts its own instructions on Fluval Clearmax media where water flow is shown in the opposite direction. Fluval - can you get it right??
