Older dogs can have sensitive gums and loose or missing teeth. The linolic acid content of this food (min. 3.5%) contributes to skin and fur quality. As absorption rates slow with age, higher levels of essential vitamins are required, preventing deficiencies and strengthening the immune system. Low levels of protein and phosphorus help avoid potential kidney problems, while a special blend of rice and oatmeal fibre promotes digestive motility and good stool formation. As research shows that older dogs often suffer from increasing stiffness, Nutro Choice Senior Maintenance contains chondroitin sulphate (min. 9.5mg/g) and glucosamine hydrochloride (min. 1mg/g) to help keep joints healthy.
When to start feeding your dog Senior food:
Small breeds (up to 10kg) - 7 years
Medium breeds (10-40kg) - 6 years
Large breeds (over 40 kg) - 5 years
