Best ive found, best price too
I started my kitten on cheapo clumping clay litters, but soon got fed up with the smell and having to bag and bin each day.
i looked for something better that you wouldnt have to take a hammer and chisel to in order to clean the tray.
I tried oko plus.... it was great, nice smell, clumped well and flushable/compostable. the only issues were that it got quite dusty and tracked terribly.
After 6 months use i decided to try worlds best, which i had heard was alot better, and cheaper, especially if you buy it from farms as "chicken scratch" (its the same).
it was horrid. the smell was not great, it clumped well but there was a dust cloud that fogged up the bathroom, which considering it is a closed tray, was not nice at all. the cat was coughing and sneezing constantly with it too. one large pack lasted my cat one month. about a 1/4 the time it says it will last. however, it tracked a lot less and was also flushable/compostable.
I intended to switch back to oko, but found greenwoods which is similar to oko and also flushable/compostable, so i decided it was worth a try.
after over a months use all i can say is Wow. it smells very similar to the pleasant natural woody oko smell. it weighs less than oko, and the odour control seems to be a lot better.
it clumps really well and the clumps seem to stay together instead of breaking into smaller bits like oko does.
someone on here said they noticed a pooling of pee, yes this has happened to me, but it happened with oko as well. I think its less a flaw with the litter and more a case of a lazy "cant be bothered to cover it as it works well" cat. the "problem" is rectified simply by throwing litter on the top for 2 seconds before scooping whilst cleaning... then it soaks up and clumps as normal. Hardly a problem as it takes a lot less time than sifting small bits from the oko which happened daily!.
The litter in each of two trays has lasted longer than both of the other two combined so far and there is no dust, unlike the others. my cats coughing and sneezing has cleared up completely. it still tracks, worse than worlds best, but better than oko as it doesn't stick to legs as much. this is not such an issue as all litters track to some extent, its soft underfoot should you tread on it and very easily hoovered up each day.
overall i am extremely satisfied with this product and it would take a lot to stop me using it.
im surprised there are still people out there that prefer to scoop into a bag and stick it outside in the bin. flushable litters are brilliant. no fuss, no landfill, no extra work, just flush down the loo and let it be treated properly. throw the remainder of the tray away in the compost, or slowly down the loo when you need to clean the tray. so far with greenwoods the trays have not been cleaned or topped up (6weeks) and still smell as fresh as the first day.
this product is awesome
