It’s empty in here!
Does what it say on the tin. Has been used daily by my Maine Coon girly for the past two years. I unclip the lid, carry the tray to the bathroom (under feline supervision) scoop the solids and clumps, flush and repeat every day. Would buy this in a larger size. The girly is still growing.
We have a rather large 6.1kg medium haired tabby, we previously had a covered litter tray but because he is so big he couldn't manoeuvre himself properly once inside & was getting mess caught in the long hairs on his tail. We then purchased a large non covered litter box to allow him the room to move more freely but this then resulted in him doing his wee over the side of the tray as again he was just too long for the tray, bless him. The day we found this tray was the day all Our litter tray problems were taken away! Yes it is huge so finding room for the tray can prove difficult when living in a 2 bed apartment BUT it is so worth that struggle as our boy loves his new toilet! He has room to go a about his business properly without messing on himself or leaving little surprises for us next to the tray! It is well made, and the door which opens up more than just the size of the flap is fantastic to make poop scooping easy. The other reviewers who mention about a gap around the door, you have the door on the wrong way! I initially put it on that way as it really looks like it should be that way but when turned the other way it fits the gap perfectly with no room for escaping smells! I would highly recommend this tray, zooplus thank you for saving the day!
In first its looks massive, bet actually good size for Tabby boys. Most impressive is easy cleaning option, would be pain to take cover off every day.
Really like this and I think my cats can tell color as I have a grey one too and they prefer the green one.......The only reason I am buying another one is because winter is here and I need an extra litter box.....We usually take the flap out as the cats are not happy with it......
An attractive and light-weight box. However, mine has just snapped clean through on the top after I lost my balance slightly when fastening lid and lent on it apparently a bit heavily (but not much). Still it is so cheap on this site I'm buying another and will remember never to lean on it! For some reason, kitten seems to want to eat deodorant pad, so I don't use it!
My kitten Little Chico loves the hooded litter tray....uses the flap...doesn't get as much litter everywhere now plus it does help with stinky kittens... It just fits where I wanted it... You do need to buy extra filters though...washing them doesn't get rid of the smell... Chico and myself are very happy...
Previously my cat used a regular litter tray but after the cat had tried to 'cover her tracks' -Most of the litter came out. This tray is FANTASTIC! No litter over the floor!! My cat is rather large and old, but she has no problem getting in and out of this -Furthermore the filter definitely works to eliminate odour!
This litter box is a good size and shape and great value for money. Our only problem with it is that the flap seems to be shaped incorrectly for the entrance.
So much lighter in weight and less cumbersome than the previous litter boxes. Such a great price too, I just hope they're still on the go when I need to replace these two.
We needed a second cat toilet for our aging cat, to help prevent little accidents. The easy open front is great for cleaning out and the filters help with any smell. Highly recommended.
Does the job! Cats use it fine!
High recommended production! No smells! Clean and tided!
Loveky very easy aces would recommend
Top marks. Yes u can buy 1 from b+m fir a tenner but with this product having easy access to clean with the extra opening on it and the bigger in height this cat litter box is 1 of the best I've brought Great value for money fir a really good product
I have just previously posted that this litter box has a poorly fitting door and overly tight clips at the side. On consideration, after re-reading one of the posts on here and seeing photos of other boxes, I find that I also have had the door on the wrong way round and, after changing it I find it fits perfectly!! I was given this box already assembled and didn't give it a thought but it does, perhaps, prove the need for assembly instructions. I stand by my comment that the clips, whilst not impossible to open and close, could be easier.
As has been said before, the main problems with this box is that the flap does not fit properly. It is constantly partly open. The catches are also difficult to open and close. I use 11 litter boxes/trays and there are much better ones than this.
My fastidious 6kg ragdoll hates to encounter his previous "deposits" and used to cry for me to clean his litter tray every single time he used it - day or night! If I went out, rather than go in a dirty tray or - heaven forfend! - soil the floor, he would hold it until I got back and could clean out the litter. This tray is so big that he is happy to use it more than once as he has room to go without getting too close to evidence of his previous visits. Life-changing for both of us! The door is detachable, and as my raggie is not a cat-flap user, I left the flap off completely for the first few months while he got used to having a box rather than an open tray. As other reviewers have pointed out, the box is not at all air-tight and there is a large gap around the door. My cat found this very useful when he was getting the hang of the door, as he could put his paw through the gap and try to get some purchase on the door that way. The filter in the lid does not absorb all smells, but it does help. Combined with a good litter and regular cleaning, the box is almost smell-free. Another reviewer rightly points out that the box is significantly smaller at the base than it is six inches up. I find this quite useful as it means that the base can be completely covered with a relatively small amount of litter (convenient if you are running out). On the other hand, if I know I won't scoop out the box for a day or so, I can put in most of a bag of litter and fill it up to the height where the box is broadest, to give my fussy boy the maximum area.
A very good litter tray, good quality & easy to clean. I was worried my cats would not use it as they have never had a closed in tray before and they are getting old now so thought they would be set in their ways but they took to it straight away. A good price too.
Brought this litter box for my kittens who took to it very easily, keeps mess inside and can not smell and odours unless you go right in to clean out poo. No smells and looks good too.
my 3 cats love it not sure of flap but soon in and out no problem very good for money easy to use very pleased
I decided to buy a covered box because I have one box in my bedroom and having 4 cats, the size of this appealed to me. It arrived yesterday and I was blown away at the size of it! In fact, 3 of my Ragdolls were in it together at one point. I started off by leaving the door off so they could get used to it and have just attached the door about an hour ago. Theyve all been in already with the door on. I am very happy with this product, both with functionality and size. Its fit for purpose and great value for money.
My litter box arrived an hour ago and already all 4 of my Ragdolls have been in and used it (3 of them at the same time!!!) Its big enough for them to live in! I didn't realise exactly how big it would be but i'm absolutely delighted with it.I bought a covered box as I have 1 in my bedroom and thought it would be more hygienic to reduce the odour when the cats have just been to the toilet. I already know that this is money well spent and now intend to replace my other litter trays with 3 more of these. I'm one happy crazy cat woman!
I bought the white and clear version for my large cat. We have a smaller covered tray but it's a dark opaque grey and he doesn't like it (lots of accidents). So I went for this because it seemed less claustrophobic for him. I'd read somewhere that cats don't do there business in hidden places outside so some can be uncomfortable with covered trays in the house. The tray is very, very light and airy inside. It's also deep and spacious and my cat has taken to with no problems. I'm going to purchase a second one to replace the dark and dingy one that he now totally ignores.
I think the person who said there is a large gap has put the door on back to front. I did, then realised my mistake. The filter got shredded by the kitten so I have been using it without and it is still a lot better than having an open litter box. Because it is such a good size and the door is almost clear it must be more pleasant for the cats to use. I was shocked how big it was when I bought it, but as my kitten grows into a cat I am glad it is big. It is very easy to carry with the handle to take it to the toilet to scoop the poop and the clips fasten and unfasten very easily but seem secure enough to carry without worrying.
This slightly higher tray contains litter well after 'digging'. One of my cats ofter hangs their bottom outside the door; this tray has helped to stop that happening. The foldable door front and transparent material allows you to scoop easily. Size is great for bigger cats. Door does have small gap at bottom but odour is not an issue for us now as we use oko best cat litter. Quality of item is very good.
We bought this product 3 weeks ago and gradually introduced Orchid Litter box into our home for our 3 cats. Firstly we started with just the tray, then with the cover on top and now we have put the flap. It's amazing because although we have normal litter trays, we did not expect our 14 year old cat to be the first to enjoy using it.
I was surprised at the negative review. I got this litter box for the raised back as a couple of my 20 pound cats pee standing up so it used to leak out on the old box, and even though they have still managed to spray above the join its not leaked, its plenty big enough and I like the see throughish top so they can get lots of light, must be horrible peeing in the dark in a sandpit..reminds me of a french holiday I once went on. The door does hang short and there is a gap but I haven't found this an issue the litter I use takes care of odour.Very pleased.
this looks amazing in my black and cream utility room, very easy to clean out and doesnt leak around seals when my birman raises her botty whilst spending a penny! very quick delivery, well packed and easy to put together
My Bengal didn't like the original covered tray we had and so used normal trays for nearly two years. I bought this one on the chance the opening top would help her get used to it. She now uses it with the top down and flap on and never goes near the plain tray. I am definitely going to get another for when our la test family addition arrives.
This works so much better for our 2 kittens than even a high sided tray because they were making such a mess with the litter. I was a bit concerned it would be too small for them both but they're perfectly happy sharing at the moment. One of them did pee in the handle on top of the box within a week of using it though, and soaked the filter, so we decided not to replace and use it without - the smell has been hardly noticeable since we changed to clumping litter. Great for a compact space.
I bought this litter tray because we have 3 cats, two of which are large Norwiegan Forest cats and our litter tray was no longer suitable. It was bigger than I realised and is excellent...no more kitty *accidents*.
very impressed with delivery, but wen i opened the box, there were no instructions with it, it was simply enough to assemble though. my only niggle with this item is, there seems to be quite a large gap between box and flap. hopefully the smells and litter will stay in the box. hopefully i have put it together properly, thats why instructions would have been helpful. this is the reason for a four rating
just found out, i put the door on back to front, thats why ther is a need for instruction booklet
This tray is excellent. Very spacious and the door and filter definitely cut out nasty smells. Great buy
I have 3 indoor Maine Coones and need a spacious litter tray as they love to dig. This is ideal with the lower front so they do not have trouble stepping in and out and the high sides to prevent leakage and litter kick out. It seems sturdy and love the front lift for easy cleaning access. Now just need the perfect non tracking litter ( impossible me thinks!)
Bought 2 of these for my two cats, on my daughters recommendation. Perfect solution for the frantic digger and also for the geriatric, unreliable squatter. I've not attached the cat flaps, as both my cats are creatures of habit and I thought it might be too far out of their comfort zone. I also don't click the top flap down, so that I can easily get to the beastly clumps. Maybe all covered trays are as good as these. But these were very reasonably priced. I just wish I'd bought them 8 years ago so I hadn't had to have the endless battle with scattered litter and unspeakable mess. The 17-year-old particularly likes the privacy. Also the extra filters are fab as there are 6 in a pack. Highly recommend.
I like to use the Catsan Smartpack, and after some experiments find this is the best covered box to use with these. The bags fit onto the base well, and the door is above the base, so swings freely. It is easy to lift off the top to scoop out solids, and the cats are happy to use it, with minimal mess. I don't know if they are concerned about privacy, but I prefer them out of sight!
My two cats have been using this for a few months now. It is well-made and a nice deep tray but there are some things which make it more difficult for me, whilst fine for the cats. Firstly the catches are very stiff and I have arthritis in my hands, so I have to ask someone else to do them for me when the tray needs a complete clean and refill. Fortunately the flap lifts up enough to allow more frequent removal of lumps. Recently, I have actually stopped using the catches which fasten the tray to the hood because of the inconvenience and have to carry the entire tray from the base instead of being able to use the handle. Secondly, unlike other covered trays I have had, the flap (perhaps because it is designed to lift up for cleaning?) does not fit tightly into the base of the tray so the smells are not so well retained inside. All in all, despite the relative strength and durability of this tray, I would probably not buy another like it.
I bought one of these for my kitten's and loved it so much I bought another. The size is perfect for one cat at a time :) Great value for money too
Bought this a year ago, my cat Bluebell is now 16 months old and still loving the privacy of her cat toilet. It's good value for money, easy to clean and very stylish.
