I put this litter box in my bedroom to reduce the amount of tracking I get with the litter. Now its the MOST popular litter box in the house and my bedroom is regularly smelling after the cats enjoy their daily poos in it! Tracking is much reduced but I'm going to have to move it! Fab product, extremely well made and sturdy. There is nothing cheap about this. It's brilliant for my young cats to jump in and out of and peer at me as they poo. Probably not ideal if you have an arthritic cat.

OK yes it's ridiculously expensive but worth it!
I think this product is extautionately priced, I paid £79 and spent months deliberating over it but I'm really glad I got it. Its well made. It doesn't seem to smell and there is very minimal litter tracking on the floor compared with the standard/hooded trays I had before. My cats weren't sure at first but actually took to it within a couple of days. I have a a litter locker II as well, which I think is a must have and I would recommend buying a spare liner so you can replace it while you clean

Excellent and very little tracking
I have tried every litter box going, drive trays with wooden pellets, covered trays, open trays and even the very expensive Litter Robot. This is the best by far. The cats cat dig and dig and no litter kicked out. It’s so easy to clean and the tracking is minimal. I use with Biokats 3 in 1 and it lasts forever. Litter doesn’t get stuck to the sides, no smell. Just brilliant and they look cool!

For those cats to posh to push!
We have had all kinds of cat litter boxes over the years ... but one thing our cat hated was the flappy lid on many of them; so we always had the lid off and the awesome sight of the litter ... But then I stumbled across this; my word I wish I invented it ... it’s like a game going to the bathroom, looks smart and hides away the mess and a breeze to clean. We bought a spare liner but the one you get is cleanable. Best product ever!!
|Stuart
Brilliant product
We have four ModKat trays for our five indoor cats. Fantastic product, easy to clean and no mess from litter getting kicked around. The replacement liners are also handy for when you want to fully refresh the litter.

Impressed so far
I have finally found a cat loo that doesn’t make a mess on the floor with litter tracking. I also had an issue that one of my cat kept missing the toilet and so wee kept going all over the floor. I have tried many different options and I kept having the same problem so I though I would try these. One of my cats used it straight away but it has taken my other cat a couple of days, but today she finally used it. And no mess! I’m so pleased that I am buying another one

Excellent
This is the best litter tray! It looks good in any room, not like a litter tray at all. My 2 Ragdoll cats were a little hesitant at first but on day 2 are using it happily. They have so much room to move around and seem to take more time digging as the litter is much deeper (you have to use 10cm which is quite a lot!) I have used the world s best litter extra strength, I bought 12 kg and have used half of this. The best thing though is NO TRACKING.. No more sweeping every 5 minutes...yay!
|Claire Holding
Delighted with our new litter tray
We decorated our spare bedroom and had the floors sanded so we did not want a standard litter tray anymore.2 of our 3 cats took to it immediately, one is 17 years young and navigates its easily. Some tiny bits of litter does escape on their paws but definitely not as much as before and never clumps like before. I am currently pregnant so this was a gift of sorts to my Hubbie, but I think its a safe option for when the baby comes also esp when a toddler. We are already considering a second.

Everything as promised
We became owned by two Siamese kittens in July and as I want them to be indoor cats it was vital that their litter arrangements be clean and protected from our three dogs. So I invested in this expensive unit and am very glad I did. The dogs can’t get into it. The cats are happy to use it, and it’s easy to empty. Only one small criticism - the liner, although very strong and secure, can be scratched out of position by my kitten who has a strange idea of how to cover her doings. Overall excellent

Love these boxes
These are wonderful litter boxes - they look nice and they hide away anything the cats have done and cleaning them is a doddle. The scoop is also great and the fact it clips on the side of the box is great. I would totally buy this again for my cats - in fact i need on as we have just got two more kittens - six cats now .... have to stop !!!!
Would definitely buy another!
Not sure what the previous reviewer is ranting about as the only part that needed 'putting together' was the lid that slides into place? Oh, and you have to actually put the plastic liner in, it fits well and doesnt move. Not really that difficult so dont be put off! Lovely box, expensive but worth it. I use Worlds Best litter with it and there is zero tracking which is wonderful. I had a trial of the Cats Best and there is a tiny bit of tracking.
A worthwhile investment
I bought this back in November and have been really impressed with it! My husband was outraged at the price haha, but is too very happy with this litter tray. We have limited places to keep a tray and now this can sit in the corner of our living room without it being unsightly and smelly. It took a week or so for our cat to start using it (so worried after what we paid!) with a gradual changeover, and he is a large boy and seems to get in and out ok. Cleaning is also easy and we find it doesn't need changing as much and tracking is less.
Pricey but worth every penny
Yes this is a ridiculous price tag but really this is the best cat litter tray I have used. I have a British Shorthair and she took to using the box straight away. I use clumping litter and find it's easy to scoop. It is stylish and blends in well to our small flat. This does not completely eliminate tracking but has reduced it significantly. It's a steep price tag but it's well worth it.
|Elaine
Still has design faults that need addressing for this price!
I have two indoor cats. One is long and skinny...she refuses to enter and does both her evacuations squatting on top...refusing to enter even after several months. The other is a senior, big tabby boy who just fits and finds it very difficult to get out! I can see how on paper this looks good but mostly suited to young, agile cats. In my experience, not suitable for cats with lessening agility. A 'sport's car' of cat boxes...but sometimes you want ease and space!

Designer cat litter box although Expensive
Bought this in January for our new cat Pixie. I was shocked at the price but she was use to a jump in/out litter box and looked really good decided to go for it. Once found I shopped around for the best price. The box sits in our bathroom and its not obvious what it is. Choose black version over white (the makers do other colours but not available). Jump in box does a really good job in keeping the litter in the box so your not continually sweeping up. Downside it loves dust!
|Scott
Pleasantly Surprised!
Way overpriced at £100 or more, but on offer with discount, I thought I'd take the plunge given the huge number of positive reviews. Well worth it!!! The box is extremely well-made from high-quality materials with attention to detail (the top grid rotates in the middle, so any litter drops straight back into the box rather than being flung all over the floor!). There is a lot, lot less litter being tracked down the hallway. My 3 cats all used it within 4hrs of its arrival!
Just buy it and don't think about the price :)
After owning this box for 5 months, I have just purchased another one for upstairs. I still think almost daily, that it is essentially a posh bucket, and did I really spend £114 on it? However, it is the little design details that make it honestly worth every single penny. Cleaning the litter tray is never going to be a favourite task, but this tray makes it as good as it could possibly be. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic Litter Box - Best I have bought
I know this litter box is very expensive but being fed up of my monsters kicking litter all over the floor and constantly having to brush it up I decided to splash out and get this. Both my cats didn't realize that it was a litter box at first as I have always used the open tray ones but once they sussed it they are very happy with it and I have a nice clean floor. FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!!
|Sarah Starsmore
At last!
I think I could write a PhD thesis on cat litter and litter trays, having tried almost every type and model going, in an effort to reduce the number of hours I spend every day sweeping up spilled litter and attempting to keep the house smelling nice. At last - a solution! No spills. No smell and even my large ragdolls fit inside easily. The price made me cry a bit, but it is worth every last penny.

Best ever cat litter box
I have cats at home for many years and never have been able to find a litter box that kept the litter in, that was compact but roomy enough to accommodate my cat, that looked acceptable in the home and was easy to clean. FOUND IT. Modcat litter box is superb. Zooplus already sells it a discounted price and now it's discounted again for black friday...buy it....you will not regret it.

Over the top
I had to find litter box suitable for current apartment size since the previous one was too big and I have heard only good things about Modkat. My only concern was that how my two cats will learn how to use Modkat's box. Fortunately the learning took 5 seconds and my cats were into it right away. The litter box is quality product and also litter sand friendly - before the cats would drag the sand all the way to bedroom and it could be found from everywhere. With Modkat, the litter sand is now either on top of the box or very close by. I sincerely recommend this product to all cat owners although the price is expensive, it's still the 'iPhone' of litter boxes.

Best litter box our there for smaller cats!
Our three cats (2-4 kg) absolutely loved this from day one! Easy to clean, stylish, good quality. Keeps litter in the box. Sadly, too small for large cats (8 kg and up).
|KJL
Small size, & cats stopped using it
I bought one of these two years ago because I liked the top entry design and overall look and solid build (if not the very hefty price tag...). All four cats tried it; one used it for a while fairly consistently when young, then all stopped using it given any other litterbox choice (and two refused to use it at all). I think the main problem is that the space inside is very small and cramped for many cats, especially larger toms. I just dragged it out again to try to get two new kittens to use it so that it wasn't a total waste of money. To me the key point was that given the choice of several types of boxes in the house, cats preferred other form factors and not this (even when it was swapped around by location). I'd consider a larger and lengthier shape but to be honest, for a fraction of the cost it's easy to do a hack with a storage box and lid, with an opening cut in the lid... wish the cats had liked the box more as it is attractive in a world of ugly litter boxes.

Worth the Price Tag!
Purchased the Modkat after much deliberation and when my kitten Bear came home before he could even use the Modkat I rushed out to buy a normal one as I didn’t think that at 12 weeks he would be able to climb into it. I placed them side by side to give him the choice and when he went to use the toilet he jumped straight into the Modkat. I was extremely relieved considering how much it costs. However it is worth the purchase price. It looks good. It is easy to clean. It gives Bear privacy. The cat litter I use Oko Plus works well with Modkat and I don’t get very much mess around the box. Many people who come into our house are not aware that it is a cat litter box. If you are debating whether to spend this much money on a cat litter box then I would recommend that you do.
great product but too expensive!
Like many other customers, I was really reluctant to spend over 100 quid on a cat loo - but this is such a great product that it's almost worth it! I still think the price tag is way too high, but the ModKat is very well designed and it really does work as described. My two cats are both pretty fussy about their loo, and their first reaction to the ModKat was to scowl and walk away. Big tabby cracked first - she hates doing her business outside, so she sidled up to the ModKat, gave it a thorough sniff, and got in. Little black cat took about a week to warm to it - she used one of my flowerbeds in the interim - but now both cats have completely accepted the ModKat, and very glad I am. It's a much more elegant solution than any other litter box. I'm moving into a new property that doesn't have a utility room and I wasn't looking forward to having an ugly plastic cat loo on show. The ModKat is not small, but it's as elegant as a cat toilet can possibly be, and the screen keeps about 90% of the litter from clinging to their paws and winding up on the floor. At most there are a few crumbs to sweep up after the cats finish up and exit. I'd been used to putting a very small amount of litter in the old litter try, and dumping it regularly, but you really do need to put a good 2" depth of litter in the ModKat. The liner is seamed, and if the litter gets too shallow, it is possible for some liquid to seep through the liner into the box itself. This isn't a huge issue, as the ModKat is very easy to clean, and surprisingly, it doesn't actually mean that you use loads more litter - the fact that the liner is flexible means that clumps of used litter come away intact without contaminating the clean litter. I remove solids and soiled clumps once a day, then replace all the litter and clean the box about once every week to ten days and have had no problems with odour at all. My only worry is that my cats, who love to dig in their litter box, will rip the liner, but so far that hasn't happened. All in all I'm delighted with the ModKat - it gets five stars for performance, but I'm only giving it four stars as I really do think they could bring the price down :)

Don’t regret buying but very expensive
I was quarrelling a lot with myself to buy this ridiculously expensive toilet but now that I've done it I have to say I don't regret it. - My Russian Blue kitten loves it, had to try it "litter"ally immediately after I set it up. My other cat was a bit suspicious at first but late in the evening I heard him sneaking in there as well. - It's extremely good looking, the main reason for me to buy it in the first place, but: - Best of all, no spray litter anymore! The grid works quite well. And even though they sometimes jump directly to the floor out of the box in a funny parabolic jump, nearly no litter is flying around anymore. If you put the box in a corner with the hole facing the corner, the parabolic action is not possible anymore so they have to jump on the grid. I was a bit concerned the cats wouldn't cover their poo properly in that box but they manage just fine. It's big enough for both of them, even my big shorthair tomcat, to maneuver sufficiently. Can't understand the price though. I'd bet a lot more people would buy it if it was around 85€ - 100€ which would still be expensive but at least much more reasonable. Only four stars, and that's only because of the price. The product itself is amazing. Altogether very happy with it.

It's ok
Not the best on the market for the huge price tag. The button snapped on one of the boxes I had. Only had it a few weeks. I got a replacement lid eventually, had to wait 8 weeks, no offer of a refund which I would of preferred ideally. It's just not that good.

ModKat
Finally swallowed the bullet and purchased the ModKat, I was worried after spending the large amount for a litter tray that my furry babies would not like or worse still would not use it...how wrong could I be...it came well packaged, yes it's pricy but the build and quality of plastic is excellent, I filled it immediately with litter and I couldn't believe my eyes, within less than 2 minutes my first cat Otto was in for a quick twinkle and then as if cueing to use the new toy my second cat Lucia was straight in for a no2, no complaints from the Cats!! I have to say the design is fantastic and looks very smart but my main reason for purchasing was I am sick & tired of constantly sweeping up litter, I have had it now 1 day, I came down this morning keeping all fingers and toes crossed that it would be at least an improvement from the normal paper mill I have to sweep up to feeling very smug with myself as there was not one piece of litter on the floor, sad I know but I am delighted with this purchase, really wish I had bought one earlier.

Part two of my review:
Cons - (3) The price - this could be cheaper, as although it ticks all the boxes for a indoor litter-box, I think it is too highly priced. After all, this is just a plastic box (but a high quality one) & I think this could be priced at £70 - £80 tops, I think £114 (& that is in the sale here) is very expensive for what it is. No filter - but that isn't a massive problem, it would just be nice to help contain the smell. The colour choice of the liner - this could have been black or grey, but blue...why blue? The blue liner looks like a pond liner... I can just about live with it & hope they make black ones sometime soon. At the end of the day - the box is great, it meets all my expectations, I can see it lasting years, & the only reason I parted with over £100 for a plastic box was because there is no other alternative on the market. Sorry 'Modkat' - as much as I love this cat-toilet, I have only given it 4 stars as of the hideous blue liner, non-existent filter and the crazy price. Would I advise you to buy it? Yes I would, if you can afford it. I want another (in red) but I see Zooplus don't have the red in stock & on Amazon it is £198!! :O

Best litter box for looks and use!
With 5 house-cats (with the added access to the garden which has cat-proof fencing so they cannot get out & come to harm). We have 3 hooded litter-boxes in the garden. However, one of our little babies is very attached to us & does not like being around the others over night. She likes to sleep with us, or on the landing with our bedroom door left a jar so she come in & go out as she pleases. However, with no litter-box for her to relieve herself over night, there has been one of two..or three, accidents before now. Even though she is generally very good - we put her out in the garden to go for a last toilet-stop before she comes up with us - at times,as you know, nature calls at odd times! So, I decided to bite-the-bullet and buy her a litter-box to put in the bathroom for her to use over night. Every litter-box is designed to look so ugly and so when I saw the 'Modkat' I was wowed! My first thoughts were "That looks really cool for a cat-toilet", my second was....."How much?"... I began reading every review on-line I could find, until I was convinced that this was a worthwhile purchase & a justifiable one. So, I ordered it from 'Zooplus' at £114, & it arrived yesterday (3 days in all & that was over the weekend, and coming from Germany - I think!). I set it up in seconds, placed it in the bathroom & poured about 2 litres of Catsan in it. I left it and waited. On a visit to the bathroom last night I stopped and sniffed ,& as I walked in I thought...."Humm.......".......Martha was sat there looking very pleased with herself and the evidence was in the box! :) She used it first time, no quibbles and I was able to deposit her 'deposit' straight down our toilet....how easy is that!! I love how it fits in with modern decor and doesn't look like a cat litter-box, but you obviously soon work out it is ;) It is actually a talking point, as I heard one of our guests use the loo and say ..."Wow", as he walked in. This is seriously i-products for cats! ^~^ The only real downside for me is the blue liner, why blue??? They have designed something very classy & minimalistic & then tarnish it by putting a blue liner in, which looks like a fish pond-liner! Now, is this worth the money? The construction of the 'Modkat' is of high quality & looks very cool- this is an i-product for cats :D The height & width (although could be slightly wider to give kitty a more comfortable manoeuvre experience) is ample enough & it's size enables it to fit neatly into a confined space. The top entry is big enough for kitty to ease in & out comfortably. The holes in the top are very good for trapping any litter left on kitty's feet & it drops back in, or you can brush it back in using the brush on the side of the scoop. So yes, no tracking of litter! It is so easy to clean. The reusable liner is strong & durable & easy to lift in & out for cleaning.

Excellent
My new kitten has been with us for two weeks and as soon as I removed his normal litter tray he used it! It prevents smells and looks cool in my kitchen. We are all very pleased with it. I am sure it will be worth the money but I would like to see how I feel in a years time. It feels sturdy enough to last and be well worth the money. I am going to get another one for the room where he sleeps.
|Cathie
Expensive but worth it
I have had 2 of these for a couple of years now. I nearly fainted at my extravagance at the outset, but they have really been worthwhile. I have 3 cats. One is a ferocious digger, one is a large Maine coon and one is very nervous and the modkats suit them all. I keep one by each of our loos (I have had a cat flap put in the door of the downstairs loo so I can keep it closed, but I don't mind leaving the upstairs door ajar) and I use sanicat very fine silicate cat litter. This is gentle on their paws and conceals smells best. This means you can just flush dehydrated poo down the loo, and stir the litter around to distribute any wet patches. It's useful to have a spare liner for changing as I like to hang it on the line to air for a day or so after washing
|Martin
Really lives up to its name
This litter box is super MOD! I really like that you can't tell what it is on first inspection and my cats took to it right away. I see comments regarding not being able to find the liners anywhere, I contacted the modko company and they told me they now have an EU site to buy liner and I checked and they do! Very excited!!
|Wendell
Extremely well designed
Yes: this thing is expensive. It was probably financially foolish of me to buy it, but I am absolutely glad I did. It feels a little weird to actually be excited about a litter box. The walls are high enough that my cat does all her digging and scratching inside the box (before she used to scratch the walls) and none of the litter gets tossed out. I use wood based litter, and that stuff tracks like crazy, but the top-entry system and the holes in the lid mean that now there is virtually zero tracking. The hinge on the lid makes it easy to lift it up and remove any, er, solid waste, and the liner lifts out easily and makes it easy to change the litter. My cat is pretty chunky (16.5lbs, most of it pudge), and she fits through the hole with no issue whatsoever. I live in a very small flat, and the fact that this keeps everything contained (and looks good!) has turned out to be kind of a big deal.
By far the best litter box out there
I'm surprised that there are no copies of the ModKat on the market. To be honest, this box is a major relief from tracking, spilled litter, smells, painful cleaning, etc. etc. And cats love it. It took me no time to train my two kittens to use it. And the time it saves in cleaning litter that has been thrown out of the box from aggresive digging is well worth the price.
|Jamie Beardsmore
Good overall
Looks good from a far but when you actually look at the edges it is poorly formed with flaps of plastic around the rim and handle which is also a bit discolored... feels a little like cheap plastic and doesn't feel of the quality as i had expected for £129.99 but i haven't had to sweep up any trailed litter in a week which i was doing before twice daily so for that i would say overall is worth the buy.
|Suskin
Cats love it
Zooplus were very helpful when we were buying Modkat and I am Very happy with my purchase. My two ragdolls got in to Modkat as soon as it arrived and immediately used it. It does considerably reduces the mess with one of the cats who loves to sit on the top. The other one tends to jump out without climbing to the top lid. Even without climbing to the top first, most of the litter is shaken off during the jump back to the box but some does escapes. Modkat looks cool and is very functional. Might consider buying another one to replace the second litter.
|Marie
I just love it!
I had to Google this cat litter tray, and look at many, many pictures images before I could order this hideously expensive item. Upon looking though, i had to conclude there is just nothing to compare at all. Litter trays are just so ugly, there's no doubt about that! It was going in my living room, and i couldn't bear looking at it for years (have an indoor cat). Upon arrival, it was love at first sight-yes for a litter tray! It looks fantastic next to my black gloss media unit, and looks so stylish. It feels well made, so would disagree with any reviews that say it's flimsy, it's not. Now, more importantly would my 10 week old kitty like it? Well, after struggling to get in, and then falling back a few times struggling to get out (was a bit worried watching her to be honest...) she then mastered it. A week later and she is in and out with ease, and loves it. She still goes in for a dig sometimes, and jumps all over it. Easy to clean, and with OKO cats best litter, very hygienic. I love it! A winner for all of us.
|Emma
Love it
Functional and smart, this does exactly what I wanted it to. Apart from the unfortunate surprise when I opened it - it was yellow, and I ordered black - the kittens used it within minutes of it being set up. They seem to like using it and it's made my life easier. Saving up for a second one, so I can get rid of the front entrance tray we have. Ps the yellow is not too bad, and I was too impatient to return it!
Well I like it!!
I have had my Modkat for quite a long time now and I would never buy any other litter tray! I thought I was going mad when I bought a litter tray for so much money but I am so glad that I did. I have two cats and I was a little worried that they wouldn't use it. However they both just popped in! I like it because my cats can dig in the litter without leaving a huge mess! There is a little tracking of litter but not very much. I bought a second liner and swap and wash the liners every couple of weeks. I just want a pink one now!!
