Purizon Cat Adult Fish – Original Daily 65% - cat dry food

Before, both cats used to eat it gladly, but now neither of them really likes it anymore.

My Russian Blues loved it, but suddenly the formula changed—it's now dark and sticky. It also smells weird. I really hope the old version comes back to the full range soon.

Almost all Purizon kibbles now have a new recipe. The list of ingredients is now much less detailed (many beneficial ingredients have been removed, and peas have been added to bulk up the protein content, even though the actual animal protein has been reduced). I've been loyal to this brand for 10 years but now I'll have to find another one. Given the price, you'd expect top-quality food. But that's just not the case anymore.

My cat used to love the old food and would pounce on it every time. Since they changed the recipe, she's much more hesitant and regularly throws up undigested pellets, even several hours later!

We have been feeding our cats with Purizon products for more than 14 years. They always enjoyed it and tolerated it well. We mainly chose the fish, chicken, and duck varieties. Since the change in the food's composition, things have changed significantly. The fish variety is still eaten, but now all three cats suffer from severe diarrhoea. The other varieties are barely eaten or not touched at all by the cats anymore.

I had tried this brand with another flavour and my cat liked it. But then I made a mistake and ordered the fish one, and sometimes my cat would eat it and sometimes not. But then he started vomiting every time he ate it. My cat was suffering a lot and I felt really sorry for him.

Karma with the changed formula has one advantage: the pellets are smaller, so they’re easier for the cat to chew. Unfortunately, Zooplus doesn’t care about maintaining production standards and many batches of this food are either overdried or have too little fat, making them very hard and lacking aroma, so cats don’t want to eat it. Buying it is now a lottery as to what quality you’ll get.
