Smaller
Smaller than the older version in all ways, smaller base, smaller in height and the height of the sisal is lower so for large cats they may not get a full stretch. Still seems sturdy but only time will tell. Came in a smaller package so perhaps this is why they've gone smaller ?

Sisal too thin
Like some other reviewers this was a follow-up to an earlier version and its construction is not as solid. Original was two pieces. This is four pieces, presumably for ease of transport. It can and does take the weight of NFC's but the sisal has given up far too quickly. Have just ordered the zoolove Scratching Post XXL with 1cm diameter sisal as a replacement. More expensive certainly, but you do get what you pay for.

product has got a lot smaller
This is the 3rd one of these posts I have bought, It has got a lot smaller and thinner and is not as sturdy as the old style post (same price though). Such a shame as I know this wont last as log as the other 's I bought, Not happy my cats are quite small Simesse but jump around like mad . I am glad I still have the old one as I will try and get it restrung,

My cats love this post
I didn't check the measurements before I ordered this so when it arrived I was surprised at how large it is! I'm glad I got it though because the size is actually just right. My cats get a good stretch using it and one of them loves to climb all the way up and perch on top. After a few months' use it still looks great and is still very sturdy.

XXL Cat Post
Excellent value for money. We have two cats and they both use the post. Would recommend to others as we were recommended to the site.
Very tall, the cats love it
We have two 6-month-old cats and needed them to stop scratching the sofa before the upholstery started to show the damage so ordered this. I didn't check the measurements and was slightly taken aback by how tall it is but I'm glad I got it because I think the large size is really an advantage. The little cat started using it within about 2 minutes and then figured out how to climb up and perch on top! Her brother took a few days to figure out what it was for but both of them have stopped scratching the sofa now so I'm really pleased. I'm planning to mount a shelf on the wall above so they can run up the post and jump onto the shelf which I think they'll really enjoy.

Could be a bit better
Product is good size, good balance but quality not so much. Rope is just stick to the top so after few months it's coming down and you can see a cardboard and material on the top is tearing apart. Anyway my cats like it.
Very robust
I've had this tree for half a year now and it's called into action several times a day. It's so stable that my Norwegian Forest Cat can jump on it without knocking it over. The finish is very good and you can hardly tell it's been used after half a year. Holds firm even when both of my cats are playing on/with it.
I can only recommend it.
Top!
Neat and robust cat tree. Perfectly adequate. High enough for cats to stretch and scratch like they would against a tree.
We've had it for roughly 4 years and the sisal is only loose in one or two places.
Good quality finish. Stable enough for bigger cats.
Brilliant cat post
Our British Shorthair kitten Chesney loves this post. He often runs up and down it and sits on top. He was always trying to sit on his smaller scratching posts but this one is so big he has a much higher success rate! The base is a good size so his hind claws are well off the carpet when he does his claws too. Excellent!!

Fantastic value for the money.
My two kittens absolutely love this post, it's great to play chase up and down and launch themselves off the top. Lily sits there waiting for eye level cuddles. My two senior cats have a good stretch with it but haven't gone as far as climbing up. It's got a nice big furry base were they have their catnip toys so they're all happy. It seems to be well made and believe me I am fussy! All in all a very good buy.

This is the only scratch post you should buy
All other scratching posts pale in comparison to this one, a definite must for any cat owner

nice and big
I feel bad that the cats don't have trees to climb and one of my cat is a climber, so i wanted to get a climbing pole for him. I live in an apartment, so I can't install anything that will reach the ceiling. This is nice and tall. It's sturdy too. I'm very happy. The ropes loosen a little on top and my cats nails are always trimmed, so I can see that being a problem for people with untrimmed cat nails, but I'm still happy with this purchase

Return to kittenhood
I already had the Olga scratching post, which my two moggies loved but had outgrown, so when I saw this at almost half price I had to get it for them. The post and base went together very easily and securely; and the base is big, so it's very stable in use.
My cats love it. It is big enough for them to chase each other up it, and the top is big enough for one to sit very comfortably (and reach down to bat the other one on the head). They are 4 1/2 now and don't play together as much as they used to, but they play with this Jumbo post just like they did with the smaller one when they were kittens. My little girl also loves to climb up and sit nose to nose with me for a fuss, in fact it's the first thing she does every morning and has become part of her morning routine.
Thanks Zooplus for yet another brilliant item, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Excellent!
My two cats love this. They love climbing to the top of it. It's very sturdy and quite tall, so bigger cats are able to stretch up and have a really good scratch without it falling over.

Works well with a little adjustment
I also initially had the problem that the bit the base screwed into came away from the tube, but I glued it back in and attached two shelf brackets to the base and into the post itself and now my three cats happily run up and down it with no problem.
A good buy!
Bought a while ago for my Bengal type rescue cat, he was perched on top within five minutes of assembly, and really loves it. I've just got a 13-week old Bengal kitten, tiny but fearless, he too loves the post. A bargain, still shows little signs of damage

The cats love it...
I thought I was buying a slightly larger scratching post to the one I already had, but when the box arrived and I unpacked it, I almost cried with laughter.
I'm 6' tall, and now my cat can climb the scratching post and look me in the eye. The cats think its great fun and since it's arrival they've kept their paws off the furniture (and the old scratching post).
The only challenge now is which cat gets to sit on the top as there is only room for one!

Huge! well worth it
The post is much higher than I expected which is great. It is tall and sturdy, so even bigger cats can have fun climbing high without any risk of post falling over. Definitely worth the money.

the big post
I have 11 cats and they all love it, but the material on top is coming away from where the rope is. but all in all love it. My sphinx use it the most though.
