Not for double coated breeds
I bought this for my husky but it doesn't take much hair off him. It does make him shiny but that's about it. Brush is brilliant on my friends dogs - Jack Russel, Grey hound and Setter/Collie cross and takes huge amounts of hair off them. Also have used it on my cat and it's great on him too. If you have a shedding dog with a coat that isn't too dense this brush is for you. The brush itself is hard to hold and uncomfortable so a grip or something would help.
