It’s empty in here!
The vets told me that Stan the Greyhound was to thin and I had to confess that keeping weight on him has been tricky, but not anymore. This is a great food he has gained weight and is now steady maintaining it. His coat is glossy and he looks in great condition.
Product looks fine but quite small kibble. Our two Flatcoats seem to like it. Disappointed that there are no feeding guidelines with the product so hard to gauge how much to feed. I don't want to over feed as our bitch is neutered and it is easy for her to gain weight and hard to loose it.
My three labs love this food. I would highly recommend it. Grain free too. Very pleased with the product.
We were feeding our Beauceron a mix of Lilys Kitchen and raw. In the afternoons after LK dried puppy food she'd go into a fit of destruction, shoes wood, toys, dog bed...even after 6 miles of walkies a day. Since we had no problems with the raw food nor LK tinned food, we decided to replace her lunchtime dried LK food with Purizon...Immediate change in behaviour, she is now a much calmer dog. Can't wait to try the other flavours now!
My Akita is as fussy as they come the only kibble he would eat is taste of the wild, but the price just keeps going up on this food plus it's more plant protean than meat. so i thought i would try Purizon kibble. and low and behold my Akita loves it, and it has fish in it which i have been trying to get him to eat for years. great quality great price, plus none of the problems others have encountered with this food in poo's or wind..
I have a fussy dog anyway, but he liked the first two Purizon trail packs I got. Its easier to buy smaller amounts, less waste when he changes his mind. He will not eats for days if he doesn't like something. Now I have bowls of this lying around. Poo is very black looking or runny. Must just not agree. Back to Markus Muhle, NaturNah the only food he regularly eats without turning his nose up!
I have fed my 10 year old border terrier this for several years now,i previously fed him on Orijen. Until this he suffered to the point of baldness with atopic dermatitis and other skin conditions and had to take expensive medication .He's now medication free and has a very healthy coat and skin. he loves the food and the quality and price are excellent!
I have four rescue dogs the eldest is 16 years old, i have been giving them Burns and changed to Purizon, they love it, only wrong thing is the measurements as all food are different sizes and all measuring cups different, it would be nice if i could get a cup for this food as the Burns cup i am using might not be enough or too much for thembut the food it'self is great
I have an extremely sensitive Cockapoo and was struggling with his diet. After spending his first year seeing a vet on a regular basis, taking steroids and being tested for all allergies feeding remained a problem. Then along came Purizon!! He loves it, I am sure it is due to lack of cereals and added herbs are beneficial. I now have a happy dog who is enjoying eating and exercise. Poo 'normal' for the first time.
I have 2 shih tzus one is very very fussy and the other has very sensitive stomach they have been on burns and I felt the sensitive dog needed to stay clear of rice and cereals. I am so happy with this food they clear their bowls in one sitting which is a first, it smells lovely. The pellets themselves are small and maybe not suitable for larger breed dogs. I'm happy with the price and it appears to be better value than well known brands of similar food. I am slightly concerned that I can't find any information about the company or where the food is sourced which is why I have given 4 stars. The food itself appears to be made from quality ingredients and seems to be talking for itself and the dogs are much happier. I hope the price doesn't start shooting up now.
I used to feed both my dogs on Jameswellbeloved which in itself is fine but found that my picky Collie wouldn't eat a lot of it and my very allergic older Collie scratched a bit with it - so decided to change to Purizon after reading the ingredients list it had - with no "fillers" etc and just the pure stuff ..... Wow! What a difference! my younger Collie has bloomed on it, shiny coat, bright eyes, full of energy and has finally filled out! My older dog doesn't scratch like she used to and has an amazing coat - only problem with her is that she's bloomed weight wise too due to high calorie content, Have asked Purizon if they do "weight control" yet but unfortunately they don't - I live in hope. Really really impressed with this food :-)
This food is great quality. It has a higher protein content than orrijen. I have five dogs of different types and they all love it. I have had issues with loose stills but as other reviewers had said stick with it as the problem will pass! Would highly recommend to anyone who cares about what their dogs eat
Excellent food for dogs. Smells delicious. The cat variety is also excellent and my dogs and cats love this food and look extremely good on it. Faeces are well formed and don't have that awful odour that dogs fed on cheap food has.
My GSD is hyper-allergic even to rice and soya. Its been a nightmare to find food he can eat without him breaking out in sores. This is perfect. He's been on it 10 months and has never been in better shape. Its just like Orijen but at a price we can afford. Could not recommend it more highly.
I bought this when it was on offer,my Chocolate Lab who is 10 normally has James wellbeloved cereal free,as this was the same price but you got a few more kgs for the price,I gave it a try. My Dog did not hesitate to eat it,and has had no problems with it. Her stools are nicely formed! And her coat is still nice and shiny, and her mobility is very good.
This dog food is really nice. It's hard to get grain free dog food. I firmly believe that a grain free diet is beneficial to humans as well as dogs. Grains are not traditionally a large part our diet or theirs. This has good quality ingredients, the dogs love it and its doesn't upset the digestion like some foods i've tried and my cavalier's colitis has cleared up completely. Would recommend this Purizon dry dog food to anyone.
We suspected that our dog may have been allergic to something in his food after he started itching and nothing from the expensive visits to the vets was helping. I decided to switch his food and at the same time give him something more beneficial than something from the supermarket. After a bit of research and help on what I should be looking for in food I found this. A lot of people said Orijen was the best but I believe this is just as good, a better price, and easy to order from zooplus :) And Sonny can't get enough!
I started to use this as Taste of the Wild had increased in price, and this seemed like a viable alternative as my dog can't tolerate grain, responds better to fish based protein and it was priced roughly the same as taste of the wild before the price increase. Immediately I noticed what other reviewers had mentioned; that his stools were much looser. I thought that he was getting used to a new dog food. However over the last week he has started eating his own poo, his coat has become dry and dull and he is having the runs. I will be returning to Taste of the wild ASAP. This food is suitable if a dog has a slightly delicate stomach but if he has an extremely sensitive stomach like my dog has it's best avoided.
Please don't ever stop selling this food. My sensitive Hovawart dog is allergic to most everything: beef, pork, game, poultry, rice, cereals and more... This is the first food in years which she has tolerated well - her coat is glossy and her itchiness has vanished. We are incredibly happy to have found this and will continue to buy.
I bought loads of these 400g packs whilst on two for £2.90. (That offer didn't last ;) Feed my GSD Arden Grange grain free fish/potato normally but anyway, raised him on Orijen for first 12 months and get Taste of the Wild sometimes. So always on the look out for a good quality kibble with no cereals/grains. This is another to bring to the table, or rather put in the bowl. It's the dog's proverbials, smells great, excellent ingredients, pricey but reassuringly so ;) Although I only got it as it was on special, I would splurge on it occasionally and it's def the best cheapest 'sample size' of the gold star kibble brands. The 400g pack is a perfect size for me to take one or two with me when camping, visiting people or sailing for the weekend or a few days. I use less than the recommended amount and then top up his meals with tins of sardines or fresh fish if on the sailing boat. The bag seals and can be used when out for the day. I can get tins of sardines virtually anywhere, but rarely find grain free food in small towns, villages and marina shops as it's very expensive. I don't want him eating large quantities when we're out sailing or camping because of the potential for bloat in a large chested dog, even though I don't exercise him for at least an hour after a meal. I just want high calorific, easily digestible, balanced food. Top quality nosh, the dog nailed it without breathing. He momentarily hesitated with the fish version, then destroyed a bowl of that too. Great that it's British made and not flying in from Canada cauing Co2 pollution (no offence intended Canada!)..
Completely agree with everything the previous reviewer said, particularly about his dog's stools being softer. My dog has issues with his anal glands and needs as solid a stool as possible! So, even though Orijen is almost twice the price, I'm going back to it.
We're switching from Orijen to Purizon and our Bulldog seems to love it, it works out a lot cheaper especially if you buy in bulk and I thought I'd give it a try, very happy so far :)
I have fed my bull terrier on Orijen for some time, but thought I would try this food since the composition is very similar and I was pleased to see it was made in the UK. The food has a very strong smell and is shiny in appearance. My dog liked it well enough, but his stools were not as well formed as when he is fed Orijen. In short this appears to be quite a good food, but I'm sticking to Orijen from now on
I like to feed my dogs good quality food so I gave this one a go as they do like the fish recipe foods for a change but I'm afraid it didn't agree with three of my dogs stomachs and made their poo very runny so Im going back to Arden Grange fish recipe, my dogs were absolutely fine on that.
I fed fish4dogs salmon kibble until they suddenly changed the formula to reduce the fish content by more than half. Purizon is a much better quality product. I transitioned gently to it, with no ill effects. My large labradoodle seems to like it, it is a good pungent smell. Just had a sampler of the chicken and fish flavour, this went down very well - pity the kibble pieces are not a bit bigger.
I always bought Acana until they became too greedy and hiked the prices up. This food is equally as good as Acana and Orijen and is not quite so pricey......at the moment anyway!!
All of my 5 small dogs love this particular one and plates are clean!! They have not had any tummy probs since i put them on Purizon. Very happy.I have introduced Purizon to a friend with tiny mutt and her dog loves it as well.
My dog is incredibly picky when it comes to food and will go hungry rather than eat something he does not like. With Purizon he cleared his plate in the quickest time ever and did not leave a scrap, very unusual for him. He also suffers from allergies, yet did not scratch or have altered bowel movements after eating Purizon. The problem is that it is twice the price of his usual brand for a smaller amount, so although I may get the odd bag for a treat, I can not afford for it to be his everyday food.
6 dogs and never any left on their plates...nice change...they really scoff up this meal and it is a good price.
Pleasantly surprised with this food, I normally feed orijen exclusively but this food is enjoyed just as much as Orijen and really sets their tails waging! It's the same quality as Orijen - And its also a lot easier on the bank balance! Impressed, will be buying this again.
Pleasantly surprised by this product, as I had never heard of this before. My very fussy Golden Lab likes both flavours, but seems to prefer the Chicken one. Well done zooplus - five stars from me :)
