It’s empty in here!
My two guinea pigs who weigh 1.1 kg and 1.2 kg were very interested in it when I first put it out but soon realised that it was a bit of a squeeze to get in and out of so they stopped using it. I thought they would munch on the hay to make the entrances bigger but they haven't. I must admit too that I thought it would have a bottom but it doesn't. Not a problem and probably better really so you can get to the animal if you need to. Other than that there is nothing wrong with the house.
I got this for my 5 month old French Lop X boy and it was wayyy too small for him. Luckily, I was surprised with an 8 week old French Lop X girl the day before this arrived, so she's making great use of it right now by hiding in it. She nips on it here and there, but I reckon it'll be demolished fairly soon. If I didn't get my girl, I'm sure my boy would have just chewed it anyways, lol! I'm still a bit disappointed though. This product is only suitable for rabbit kits, cavies, rats, etc.
I have two guinea pigs who love them. The entrances are small but our full grown and rather fat (well loved) pigs stretch and squeeze inside, they love it and its amazing to see them play and stretch. The whole thing is edible as my two prove over about a 6 week period, and the only thing we have to be slightly carful about is the ring of cane around the entrances, once the house is about half eaten and the ring exposed we cut it because we have had instances of a pig being startled and trying to jump though the exposed cane hoop, it ended up half way down the pig like an overgrown grass skirt and they got a little fright as they couldn’t escape the house (it went with them as they ran). No harm done though and simply snipping the loop when it gets exposed allow the entrance to expand to any size and stops the problem. Oh the pigs also love the box to eat and play in, so its a 2 for 1 ! 4 stars only for the slight design flaw in the doors which could be allowed to expand naturally
My two degu absolutely love this house. The first thing they were interested in when we finished building their new cage. Good size and they like to block off one entrance at night with bedding. Excellent!
not chewed it yet. love hiding in it. not sure they will fit in when fully grown. so i wouldnt recomend for very large guinea pigs
this grass house is fantastic for guinea pigs, it is well made and lasts for quite a while, they can hide away in it and play when using both entrances, also they can eat the House up. Fantastic Product, would recommend.
Lipsy my bunny is the size of a keyboard when stretched out. She could only get her head in the holes of this. Saying that she has had fun chewing it, throwing it about and now used it to spring jump out of her cage. She does not have a door on her cage and no wood shavings, as she only goes in it to eat, use her litter tray and messy thing like this house. She has no door on the cage and has the wooden log on the outside of the opening, she jumps off the house (which she has put upside down) from the corner and lands on the log tunnel on the outside of the cage. Clever bunny, she does not slip or catch her paws like she does without using the house. So would recommend for this use and also she has chewed most of it, so ensuring that she is eating grass to keep her teeth healthy. Would not really say it is suitable for a house for rabbits though due to being too small even for my dwarf lop.
We got this for our 4 degus out of curiosity to see how long it would last. Over a month and it's still standing, if a bit thin on the roof. They have it packed to the rafters with bedding and I'm not sure how they still manage to squeeze in!
My name is Iggy and I'm a Netherland dwarf. My hired help bought me this as a hideaway but I can't fit in it. I'm very small but can only get my head in the holes. I do enjoy throwing it around and pretending to be a tortoise with it on my back but to be honest the box it came in made a perfect hideaway and my 4 stars goes to the box!
I bought this as a xmas present for my 3 degu's and now they wont sleep in anything else! They love everything about it (including the taste). I would definitely recommend this :) xx
This is fantastic for my guinea pigs, however there was some doubt to begin with if they would be able to fit through the holes and get in it! They're not large piggies, and when breathing in they can squeeze in, but the photo is very deceptive as even miniature dwarf rabbits couldn't squeeze in. My piggies have begun to nibble at it but 4 days since I added it to the cage and you can't tell yet. Will definitely buy a replacement when this has worn out.
My dwarf reabbit loves to sit on top and she easily fits inside too. He just found out that he can eat it, so i don't know how long it will take until i'll have to buy a new one haha!
My to guinea pig boys loved this, great for hiding in and then munching - didnt give it 5 stars as once they started eating it (after about 2 weeks) they just didnt stop so have had to replace it since, but it is a great addition to any cage!
