It’s empty in here!
My female dsh cant get enough of this tin food she loves all varieties. Also likes the Smilla biscuits , i left the bag out big mistakes as she bit it and ate loads!! No more help your self in this house so had to put her food in a big plastic box!!
Five out of five cats wont touch it. Not the most successful of purchases :(
I have two cats, one who prefers wet food and another who prefers dry, so finding food they will both eat is tricky. Having tried the mixed pack, I found they'll only touch the tender fish and poultry - Tuna and Chicken (not to be confused with the tender poultry and fish, which is more like a paté). There are visible chunks of real meat and it smells good. I see the quality in my cats' fur and eyes. I also feed them Almo Nature Holistic Chicken & Rice dry food in the morning.
both kittens seem to have gone off this at the same time. Tolerated it to start with but now won't touch it even when they're hungry ..
The tender chicken tins go down better, and they all seem to love the tuna and sardine tins. They are not as dry as the tuna only ones. I rotate tins randomly with other 3 wet food brands, so that I won't be stuck when they stop eating one for some strange reason we humans will never get.
My cat loves this. It is quite dry so you should add water to it when you serve it (I always add water to my cat's food anyway). My cat is very fussy and gets bored easily so I only feed him a little of this every now and then.
My cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and I set out to change her diet to get her on the right track. Most widely-available supermarket foods are pretty rubbish with sketchy labelling and have grains/sugars/whatever else -- just not suitable for a diabetic. I was happy to find Smilla has a high declared meat content without grains, sugars, or other fillers, and at a great price. I add a little water, and the cat gobbles it up without any GI issues or sugar spikes. Her new go-to food!
I feed 2 of my cats this food and they always clean their bowls! It's a great price too!! Only thing I would say is food seems a bit dry, so I do add a bit of water to it and mix it in and they love it!! Would definitely recommend.
Great product; it is a good price, good ingredients and no rubbish in it like standard cat food. Helpful being able to buy mixed fish and poultry packs to try out on my cats who are used to whiska-type rubbish. Cats do not like it as much as Animonda or Bozita tetrapak chunks. One cat refuses to eat the poultry hearts and neither are keen on the tuna tins (which the fish pack mainly consists of). The poultry with lamb also makes one cat sick. Will purchase again but only plain chicken.
Bought this to try and build up a very sick, undernourished stray cat that has come into our care. Within only a few weeks she is thriving, full of energy, silky coat and much more content.
Our cat is quite fussy and isn't keen on the tuna but she loves the limited edition poultry with veal and it doesn't have the normal cat food smell- it smells good enough for humans to eat too! Will continue to buy.
Bought the mixed fish pack for my four cats to try. Considering the high meat/fish content I thought they would love it but their reaction was very disappointing. They absolutely hated the tuna variety and the other flavours were just 'ok'. I wouldn't buy it again.
My cats have always loved Smilla; so I thought I'd try them with the tuna flavours. They won't touch it !! They'd rather starve - whereas they wolf down the chicken, lamb, beef etc;
I brought this product on the basis of the good reviews, my cat wolfs down all but one flavour and her fur feels amazingly soft since I started her on this and her grain free dry food.
Foolishly bought the enormous tins not realising quite how big they were. food is very dry very difficult to get out of the tin, cats didn't really like it stuck with loads of giant tins now, not sure what to do with them
My kitten loves this food and we love feeding it to her. The bowl is always licked clean and impressed that I can see real bits of tuna and sardines. She has a shiny coat and bags of energy, we think it's from feeding higher quality foods rather than whiskas etc which is full of sugars and grains with very little meat.
My 2 cats loved the tuna. I was very impressed by the smell, consistency and price.
My cat really enjoys this, he does get bored so I only order the 200g tins. He eats this food when put down and often 'screams' to say more please. It has also had the seal of approval from a sneaky doggy. I will be ordering more trial packs, I simply don't need the amount required to order each flavour individually.
My 7 month old kitten loves Smilla, Chicken and Fish, Chicken with Poultry Hearts and the Tuna with Sardines. It is moist but not sloppy, plenty of meat/fish in the formula and a great price, cheaper than the well known brands sold in the supermarkets that contain very little meat.
I threw more out than the cats ate, they did not like it at all
I purchased the mixed pack of 12 tins of Smilla and so far, kitty seems very happy with it. Food seems very meaty, like corned beef and is clearly delicious, Great value for money when you compare price per kilo with some other brands. Hopefully he will keep on enjoying this so I can stock up.
My two moggies really like the Tuna (only) version of this food. The food itself looks just like human grade tuna but is darker in colour. I feed them this every couple of days as a change to their other wet foods that are chicken based.
I'm so happy to finally have found a wet food my cat eats instantly! Usually it takes her an entire day to eat 80gr, but with this she finished all of it in 15 minutes!!
I'm a relatively new cat owner and have been following the crowd and adverts mistakingly believing that some pet foods were good for my kitties. It wasn't until I read the ingredients and discovered I was feeding my babies complete rubbish that I started looking for an alternative that was nutritious, tasty and had a decent meat content whilst being affordable. What I was surprised at was that even some of the 'recommended by vets' food was still low in meat content and full of grain and additives. I have already been using Zooplus for a long time buying decent litter so I decided to look at their food range and came across Smilla. The difference has been immediate. Their coats are shiny, they go for it as if they are piranhas and they adore this food. What Ive found is that they need less as its more nutritious. Their poo's are more compact and they no longer smell bad. I'm using both Smilla adult and Kitten as I have both and I would recommend it to everyone who has cats. It smells good enough for humans to eat and doesn't make me feel ill first thing in the morning when I have 4 cats crawling all over me wanting to be fed. If you are unsure, just give it a try-I promise you, your kitties and your purse-wont be disappointed!!
Hi, my ragdoll loves kitten 200 G smilla pots, chicken 400 g are ok too, but those fish pots are super dry and my cat who is no fussy at all are it only mixed with different pot. Not recommended sorry
This is undoubtably the best quality food I have ever fed my cats, forget all the fancy adverts for supposedly amazing but expensive cat food packed with cereals, this knocks spots of it! Very high fish content and zero grains or fillers, my bengals sensitive tummy loves it and so does she. Since changing from "high street brands" to this, her dull lank greasy coat now gleams, her bloated tummy has deflated and her naughty streak has returned alive and in abundance. I cannot rate Smilla highly enough, its simply fab, so good I've even considered putting it in hubby's sandwiches!
My cats love this. Really impressed that it has actual fish in, as are my cats!
Our two darlings love fish and liked eating this food, but they didn't go crazy for it like with others. I found the smell ok, but it seemed to be a bit dry and firm. I thinned it out with a couple of spoons of water, and then our cats ate it happily.
Very good food for cats who are like my Garfield - he loves it
Very good quality food, the cats love it! It fills them up for longer than supermarket foods do as the meat content is much higher. Very satisfied and will use Smilla all the time from now on.
I have a Bengal who has a very sensitive tummy and cannot eat grains. Until I put her on Smilla she was lethargic with dull fur and continual diarrhoea. She has been eating Smilla with gusto for the last year and is a different cat, very mischievous, glossy coat and solid poo's. The food looks and smells amazing and is grain free. I highly recommend it (so does the dog!)
For the felines who love fish this is a real hit. I've got nine week old kittens and the size of the food is perfect for them. It smells of Tuna (rather than heart which all the tins of supermarket food seem to have now, nothing wrong with that but tuna is a welcome change). A tin was shared amongst several happy girls and I got a wet tuna nose kiss from my siamese boy. He approves. If they're happy, I'm very happy (I hate food going to waste). It's packed with 80% tuna and vitamins, at a great price. Thank you zooplus!
I bought the mixed trial pack of the fish pots for my two cats, we hadn't tried Smilla before. The food was very popular with them. Unfortunately though it doesn't seem to make them very full, but we're still going to keep feeding them this once a week on their "fish day", because they clearly love it!
Happy, fulfilled cats! This food has much more nourishment in it than supermarket bought foods. Our cats are more settled, not hungry all the time like they were before. Very pleased with it. Our cats look healthier too. So all round good food!
A good qualty reasonably priced complete food that my fussy female will enjoy eating ( so far!) and NOT regurgitate in various hidden corners of teh house a few minutes/hours later. Am now trying the poultry too
Our indoor cat has been on felix, and whiskas for the past 4 years and after looking in to how crap they are, we decided to try something thats better but we can still afford, he loves it :) just wont touch it if its been in the fridge because its too cold haha
I tried this variety as I have 5 fussy cats plus a lodger! who had been turning up their noses at the usual cans of Whiskas and Felix, they did like some of the pouch versions though but these are too expensive for so many cats. These cans have been brilliant, they smell good and you can see the high fish content. I will definately be purchasing more and trying the meat cans too.
My cats eat this but I wouldn't say they think it's delicious and eat it real quick and return for more but it does the job and they do finish it albeit slowly, probably a better thing. Like a solid block.
My cats adore the smilla fish varieties, they go crazy for it and it looks great, you can see the bits of fish. Looking at the ingredients it's one of the better foods out there. One request zooplus - can you do the 24 x 400g fish savings pack as a variety pack as well as the individual flavours please? You already do it for the poultry version and it would save me buying 24 x 4 flavours at a time!
My two 5 month old kittens adore the sardine fish pots, I love how you can see the skin and scales of the fish, as well as big hearty chunks of flesh! It smells delicious (though I love oily fish myself so I may be biased) and it's gone in under a minute, with the bowl being licked clean every time! I'm going to order more soon, as well as try out the poultry pot with beef. :)
