Product description

This sweet smelling mountain meadow hay made from top quality hay is full of vital nutrients and has a high fibre content. Ready to use and great value for money.

Hay is an important staple food for your small pet and Vilmie Mountain Meadow Hay should be part of any rabbit or guinea pig’s diet. It contains plenty of healthy, leafy plants and herbs which are packed full of vital nutrients. Fresh hay has a high fibre content which helps to keep your small pet’s digestive system healthy. It also has an abrasive effect on your pet’s teeth and helps to keep them short. Your pet should always have plenty of hay available.
A top-quality product at a fair price; Vilmie Mountain Meadow Hay is made from loosely packed, fragrant hay.

Vilmie - for happy small pets!

Please note:
Meadow hay is a natural, untreated product that varies with the season and the weather conditions. Varying shades of green, yellow stalks or a paler colour are not signs of inferior quality. Good hay can be distinguished by smell and consistency. Quality hay will smell fresh and pleasant and will include very few, if any, hard, coarse plant components.

As hay is a natural product, consistency may vary with the season.

Piggies joy
When I got it, I regretted it. It was dusty and didn't seem to be good quality but for some reason my piggies love it. Its their favourite hay, they prefer it over Timothy hay and any other. As the bag is huge I gave some to my friend for her rabbit and same story. Rabbit preferred it over other hay.

Poor quality
I buy this hay regularly and usually it's pretty good quality. This time around it was dry, brown, coarse and incredibly dusty. My rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas will barely eat it. I'm easily throwing away half of what I'm giving them. Rabbits need constant access to good quality hay in order to maintain good gut flow. This is not good quality. They should have better quality control. Hay of this poor quality should never have been sold.

Bad batch
I always order this hay and it’s usually very good quality and soft and my guinea pigs love it. This time round I ordered two big bags but this batch was AWFUL. Very hard and SO Many sticks, and hard pieces in the hay I can’t use it at all...

Extremely good
Hay is green and soft. The bag is very compressed but it’s easy to get the hay out. Guinea pigs absolutely love it and it’s very cheap for the quality. 100% recommend!

At last a hay they love!
They love this hay, it's soft and green. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it is quite dusty and dirty.

Fine
My piggies aren't fussy and ate this hay very happily. Think I'll try some with added goodies this time.

My two boar piggies love this. It smells fresh, has nice, long strands and isn't tightly packed. All happy!

Lovely quality hay for a decent price
Bought this as my five rabbits were going off the farm bale that I usually buy. They enjoy it very much, even the couple of fussy ones that I have! They always enthusiastically tuck in, and although it's dearer than the farm hay, it's a pretty good price, considering the size of the big bag. It's a hit with the guinea pigs (although they eat anything), and I've even spotted the cat having a munch on the greener strands! It's a good mix of soft and stalky, and has a few flowers and herbs in it. It also smells really great and isn't packed too tightly that you can't get anything out. All in all, I'm very happy with it, and will definately buy it again.

Nice cheap big bale
I had the 14kg bale and loved it as did my 4 guinea pigs and 3 rabbits. A bit dusty but nothing too bad.
