Food intolerance refers to all abnormal physiological reactions to the consumption of a food or food additive. A distinction is made between food allergies and food intolerances.
A food allergy is an overreaction of the immune system to certain proteins. The reaction to food intolerances, on the other hand, occurs without the involvement of the immune system. Both food allergies and food intolerances can lead to skin and digestive problems, such as itching and diarrhoea. It can often be necessary to carry out an elimination diet to determine a food intolerance. The prerequisite is a food that contains a selected protein source and as few different ingredients as possible.
Skin problems are not only the most common consequence of food intolerances, but also of flea saliva and environmental allergies. To optimally support skin function, food should contain high-quality fatty acids.

This Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic Turkey only uses turkey as a selected source of protein to help with food and nutrient intolerance symptoms. It is advisable not to feed common animal proteins, as the risk of a physical reaction is lower than with commonly used proteins.
To support skin function in cases of dermatosis and excessive hair loss, Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic Turkey uses hypoallergenic salmon oil, which is characterised by its high content of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA).

Feeding guide

Feeding recommendation:
Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic Turkey is a complete food for cats.

Recommended feeding period:
  • To minimise initial product and nutrient intolerance symptoms: 3 to 8 weeks. If signs of intolerance disappear, this feed can initially be used for up to a year.
  • To support skin function in cases of dermatosis and excessive hair loss: up to 2 months.
Feeding instructions:  
  • It is recommended to seek the advice of a veterinarian before use and before extending the feeding period.
  • The diet food should be given as a complete food in accordance with the feeding recommendations, although the quantities given should be adjusted to the age, breed and activity level of the animal.
  • The daily feeding amount of food should be divided into two or more meal times per day.
  • Store in the refrigerator after opening.
  • Please serve at room temperature.
  • Offer water to drink as much as they like.
