I previously gave this food 4 stars because of shrink-flation, without affecting the quality though. This time, a year later, I can definitely say that this is NOT the food it used to be. I recently bought poultry/beef/cranberry variety and couldn’t believe my eyes - and nose! Smelly, mushy, with a LOT of beef fat visible. My cats have to be REALLY hungry to eat it and even then they only eat a little and leave the rest. Not the colour, not the structure, not the smell and not the taste anymore.

Well. They actually love four different varieties. And I love the fact that they love it. However, there’s something I don’t love. You no longer get 800g food in an 800g can. There’s a thick layer of jelly now, which in the case of chicken with chicken hearts is close to 20-25% of the can’s content. So naturally, I’m going through much more cans a week now than I used to. And the difference is massive when you have 11 cats at home. Hence only 4 stars.

Not only has it been out of stock recently, but there’s also a really high amount of fat and jelly. I did the maths on an 800g tin and ended up with 158g of fat. On the 400g tins, I’ve found up to 106g of fat/jelly in some of them. I think the company knows about this but just doesn’t care about the feedback. I’ve called several times and every time I was told, “they’ll pass the information on”…

Great complete food, suitable for all ages, especially for cats with urinary problems. I highly recommend it, I order every month.

My tomcat is autistic or something, and this is the only food he'll eat. Since he's been getting his favourite food regularly, he's much more balanced :)

We've been using MAC's food ever since Porto was a kitten. We started with the kitten range and now we've switched to the adult version. We like the ingredients, with a high meat content and no grains. He tolerated it very well from the start, with no digestive issues or other problems. He ate it with great pleasure for a long time. Lately, he seems to have got a bit bored of this flavour, but I think it's more a matter of taste preference than a problem with the product. Overall, we're very satisfied!

I'm really getting super annoyed now. As many cat owners know, cats are very picky when it comes to food. The Lamb & Turkey variety is the ONLY thing they'll eat. So it's all the more frustrating when the recipe keeps changing. The tins used to be dark green, now they're light green – and unfortunately, it's not just the colour that's changed. The texture and ingredients are different too, so my cats won't eat it anymore. Every order is a gamble!

Unfortunately, the online advertisement claims a higher taurine content than what is actually stated on the food can.

My three cats love this food. The youngest one likes the fish variety the most. Great food and also relatively cheap here on Zooplus. Especially with three cats, the 800g tins are more affordable and create less waste.

With MAC’s Cat Canned Food (Duck, Rabbit, Beef), I replaced the cooked beef my cat had to eat because of his autoimmune anaemia, and I’m absolutely satisfied! So is he :-)

My cats really like this food. It has a pleasant smell and looks appetising too.

Not only do our three cats love eating this food, but they also tolerate it really well – no vomiting or diarrhoea like we had when switching from other brands.
