The quality dropped is causing diarrhea
This food used to be ok. I fed many cats with it for many years. Unfortunately in the last months something happened and cats don’t tolerate it anymore, it causes bad diarrhea. It caused a lot of trouble in my cats community and the last batch I had to throw away.

It's OK
Cats aren't that fond of it, and they take a lot longer to eat all of it than other brands. It's more difficult to prepare than other foods also, one of my cats is quite small and I need to mash it up for her as it's one big solid lump of food. Smells like nasty canned human food. Wouldn't get it again.
Not very impressed
both kittens seem to have gone off this at the same time. Tolerated it to start with but now won't touch it even when they're hungry ..
Good quality and value, but cat doesn’t love it
My cat loved Animonda Carny but t gave her digestive issues so we switched. She doesn’t love Smilla- she will lick at it but very reluctantly eat it. Pity, as it’s good quality and value

OK but smells horrible
This is more like a pate than a regular cat food. Cats liked it ok but doesn't smell good and it is awkward to use. Wouldn't buy again.
Nice for a snack
My cat loves this. It is quite dry so you should add water to it when you serve it (I always add water to my cat's food anyway). My cat is very fussy and gets bored easily so I only feed him a little of this every now and then.
Great find for diabetic cat parents on a budget
My cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and I set out to change her diet to get her on the right track. Most widely-available supermarket foods are pretty rubbish with sketchy labelling and have grains/sugars/whatever else -- just not suitable for a diabetic. I was happy to find Smilla has a high declared meat content without grains, sugars, or other fillers, and at a great price. I add a little water, and the cat gobbles it up without any GI issues or sugar spikes. Her new go-to food!

I purchased the mixed pack of 12 tins of Smilla and so far, kitty seems very happy with it. Food seems very meaty, like corned beef and is clearly delicious, Great value for money when you compare price per kilo with some other brands. Hopefully he will keep on enjoying this so I can stock up.
Fish Cat food
My cats love this. Really impressed that it has actual fish in, as are my cats!
pretty dry
Our two darlings love fish and liked eating this food, but they didn't go crazy for it like with others. I found the smell ok, but it seemed to be a bit dry and firm. I thinned it out with a couple of spoons of water, and then our cats ate it happily.

I bought the mixed trial pack of the fish pots for my two cats, we hadn't tried Smilla before. The food was very popular with them. Unfortunately though it doesn't seem to make them very full, but we're still going to keep feeding them this once a week on their "fish day", because they clearly love it!
Great food and the cats love it
My cats adore the smilla fish varieties, they go crazy for it and it looks great, you can see the bits of fish. Looking at the ingredients it's one of the better foods out there. One request zooplus - can you do the 24 x 400g fish savings pack as a variety pack as well as the individual flavours please? You already do it for the poultry version and it would save me buying 24 x 4 flavours at a time!

Smilla poultry with duck - only 16% + 4%
Smilla is going downhill – it used to be 40% meat in the meat (20%+20%), then 30% meat in the meat (20%+10%), and now... poultry with duck has a total of "20% poultry, of which 4% duck" (as written on the label, it's not a mistake!), so only 16% poultry + 4% duck. Plus, the cans are dented from inside the 6-pack, so you can't blame the courier for that. And the price per kg keeps going up. The only upside is that there isn’t yet such a layer of fat at the bottom (like the poultry with poultry hearts has) and my cat still likes the taste.
