It's generally good and our cat drinks from it. But it's... very loud and noisy... It was quiet and discreet at first, but now after 2 weeks it makes a racket. I think it might have to do with the water level, because when I fill it up so it's full, it gets a bit quieter. However, if you want a quiet and discreet water fountain for your cat, I'd look for another one.

It's grand, but if I were to buy a fountain now, I wouldn't go for this one. The water flow is fairly weak, so there's not much surface area for the cats to drink from, which might put some of them off. Also, since it's made of plastic, I find it hard to be sure it's clean enough for my cat's standards, and one of my cats has already stopped drinking from it even though I clean it often (though maybe he just doesn't like the way the water comes out).

I bought it specifically for my Cat Mate fountain but it doesn’t fit. I had to modify the filter holder inside because there was no way to get it in. My fountain has two slots and the replacement has three.

These filters release a black residue that contaminates the water. I don’t know to what extent they may have caused urinary problems for my cats. Not only do I not recommend them, but I actually wish they’d be taken off the market.

Noisy and doesn’t move the water.

The listing doesn’t clearly show the product’s measurements. With so many products in the same post, it’s hard to tell. The filters I bought are very square-shaped. I went by the picture and thought they would fit well. I’ll still use them by squeezing them in and making them fit, at least until I buy the original brand replacement (which is more expensive). They seem to be good quality. The mistake was mine for not checking the filter size.

Sjimmie really enjoys drinking from the water fountain. He finds it very pleasant.

It works well, as long as it works. I've been using this fountain for many years and, with the same usage and maintenance, this "new" pump lasts much less than the previous version. Since I repurchased the fountain in November 2025 (I had to, because the new pump couldn't be used with the old fountain model), I've changed the pump twice. It's a shame because it's a perfect fountain for both dogs (of all sizes) and cats.
