Accessory: Telescopic Pole
Not fit for purpose
The telescopic pole as sold/shipped simply does not work. It cannot be tensioned properly because the twist-on handle doesn't create enough friction to prevent smaller tubes from slipping back into larger ones (For anyone finding themselves in this situation: can be solved with a self-tapping screw. Or just return).
Build quality isn't great either – tubes are metal and OK, but all the plastic stuff is really finicky. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Absolutely satisfied after some initial difficulties
At first, assembly was tricky because the instructions didn’t explain the spring system well. After a bit of research, though, it made sense and the bars have been rock solid for me for the past 3 months. I also secured the threads with gaffer tape, and the swivel joint with a rubber pad stops it from slipping. Overall, it’s very sturdy and high-quality. I added a sticky zip myself to the net and fixed it with gaffer tape – that way I can open it when needed without having to take everything apart.

Bought seven pieces for two balconies, but everything is going back. The rods are very heavy, unstable, and unsafe. After installing them, they just slide back down on their own, ending up crooked so the cat net starts sagging on one side and is pulled really tight on the other. I wouldn’t recommend buying these. The rods have been installed for three weeks now, and in that time, all four of them have come loose at least once on their own. If we hadn’t also fitted extra railing clamps, these rods would have been completely useless, as they don’t hold at all and you just can’t rely on them not to fall off the balcony with the slightest gust of wind. The bar relies solely on muscle strength to stay in place, which makes it practically impossible to secure it firmly between two surfaces – one end will always be loose and won’t fit tightly, so it doesn’t really do its job properly.
If you want to reinforce the netting at the corners of your balcony and you have a roof, it’s much better and actually cheaper to buy a tension rod or pole used in transport – they’re not as nice-looking, but they’re super quick to put up and take down. You just need to make sure you get the right length.
