Applaws Adult Chicken with Lamb - cat dry food

I got a 400g sample bag of the exact same product which my cat really liked. Those biscuits were normal size (slightly larger). I then decided to buy a 7.5 kg bag, only to find out the biscuits in this bag were tiny. My cat does not want to touch them at all, so I had to give it away. Basically threw away 50 EUR or so which I could have used to buy food my cat actually eats.

My cats seem to really like this food, but then they aren't that fussy! I like to try and feed them food without grains, and with as much meat as possible. Mainly because it seems like this is how their diet would be naturally. Before buying Applaws I had never really read the ingredients for cat food, and honestly I was shocked at how little meat is in cheaper brands! In addition to all that, the price on zooplus is fantastic, so it's a winner all round!

I run a small cattery and trialed this on our visitors along with Royal Canin and Purina One. This one is always left uneaten so I wont be buying again. And the biscuits are tiny.

The cats love the food but I don't like how the size of the biscuits is so small compared to the other types of Applaws - they can just wolf it down without really chewing it, which I can't see is good for them and also doesn't help with their dental health.

Mine are pretty lively... So I'm wondering whether my 1 and a half and 3 year olds can also eat this? I've tried so many other dry foods and they don't really like wet food.. GLG

Both of my cats love it - and have done for quite some time! I have not seen any issues in terms of adjustment or compatibility, and if my cats are anything to go by yours will love it too!

Neither of my cats have had any problems - my little 8 month old has been eating it for a while now and is developing into a fine specimen! They always lick the bowl clean, and I mean spotless! My 9 y/o gets the adult version and also eats well! Both of them love it!

The ingredients are brilliant and that's why I Ordered 2kg to try out. All my MCs liked it but the kibble is so small that not even my 6 week old kitten thought to chew it. They simply swallow it down without chewing. What a shame. If the kibble was larger I would have carried on feeding it and recommended it to other kitten owners.

The potatoes were increased from 10% to 14% and some sweet potato was added. Fine - with 80% meat content that's 140g on 1kg, which is still okay. When you think about grainy foods that have maximum 4% meat content then it seems like a luxury!!! However my cats get soft poo every now and then which is not very pleasant with long fur!!! Other than that - perfect food!!!

Regarding my pets: + very quickly accepted, our kitty devoured it without ever having eaten dry food before + very compatible, small poos, no diarrhea or itching + size is perfect, you can really stretch it if you dose it right (2 cats, 7 kg bag, with wet food lasts roughly 5 months) + Perfect shape seeing as cats don't chew so much anyway - quite salty for cat food

From day one they have licked their plates clean which gives me confidence as the food supplier in the household! As I like to have lots of different flavours for my kitties so that they don't get bored. This was a great find! The pieces are a little small but doesn't make much of a difference with a full mouth as they have to chew! Paws and thumbs up :-) And when it runs out we will graduate to the Adult which offers even more flavours!

A top quality, very good food which my cats (4b European shorthair and 2 sphynx) love. Just one problem: the kibble is rather small so the cleaning effect on their teeth is not great.

This is a really great dry food. I have one cat which would rather go hungry than try out lots of different foods. This kibble is the best alternative I have found. Lots of meat and grain free. My cat loves it. Maybe the kibble could be a bit bigger so that it gets chewed more, but the first few pieces are always just swallowed straight down. Maybe because it tastes so good. After that my cat starts to chew. I really recommend this food.

My cats prefer dry food with chicken and salmon. I like it that this food was created without any animal testing and that the meat comes from animals that have been humanely reared and with no antibiotics. I don't want other animals to suffer for my pet. It also has lots of fish which is important for cats. Most other foods have a low percentage of fish to meat. I definitely recommend this food.

Abnormally high calcium and phosphorus

For years, this has been my cats' trusted and beloved dry food.

Ideal for older cats who love dry food but can't manage it anymore because they've lost their teeth, or for cats who don't chew and just swallow their food whole.

Our two kittens started off with the Kitten range from this brand (chicken flavour), and we stuck with it when they became adults. The ingredients are good, which was important to us. It’s pricier than the cheap rubbish (as expected), but still less expensive than what the vet sells! For me, it’s great value for money. Never had any vomiting or digestive issues linked to it. Yes, the kibbles are a bit small, but honestly, my cats actually prefer them that way. The packaging does the job too – they stay nice and crunchy right to the end.

Maybe at first the cat liked it, but after fully switching to this food (previously mixed with the old one), she went on a hunger strike. She can’t chew it, the bowl just stays full.

I really regret not reading the reviews earlier. This is a disaster for my cat and for me. Luckily, I only bought it to try. My cat keeps asking for food and won’t even go near the bowl when I added a few pieces to her usual food, same Applaws ADULT WITH CHICKEN but in a different package. Must be some kind of mistake. I’ll never buy it again.

My cat isn’t impressed. After adding a few grains to her chicken and duck-flavoured food, she gives the bowl a wide berth. Lamb won’t be making an appearance in our house again.

My cat gives the bowl a wide berth, and I only sprinkled in a few bits for a little change of flavour. That was a mistake. I always buy Applaws adult with chicken, but this time I wanted to improve it. I won’t be buying the chicken with lamb flavour again... My kitty doesn’t like it at all.

My cats were instantly won over. I think these are an excellent product, especially considering the list of ingredients, where you can really appreciate the high percentage of meat. The quality/price ratio is also good!
