Carnilove Active Adult Sterilised with Lamb & Wild Boar

Good meat chunks, great for their teeth. My Ragdolls really love them, especially when they're fresh out of the pack.

The price is getting ridiculous! €5 more for the new packaging, that's just outrageous! The formula has changed. I'll look for a better brand.

Luckily, I read the reviews and checked the ingredients. I used to always feed this food to my cats, but I won't give it to them anymore because the quality of the ingredients has gone down while the price has gone up. And this seems to be the case with many brands at the moment. The animals are the ones who suffer.

As a reward for our loyalty, we received a 400g packet of kibble. After mixing it with their usual food, one of our cats had digestive issues. We do not recommend this brand and will stick with VIRBAC.

I've been ordering this brand for 7 years now and I've always been happy with it. The packaging has changed and the recipe was updated recently; I made sure to transition my two cats gradually, as their digestive systems were a bit unsettled for the first 2-3 weeks, but everything went completely back to normal once the kibble was fully part of their daily routine. (I made sure not to change the flavour and kept the same one as the old packaging.) Their stools are great and my cats absolutely love the food.

Very good dry food with great ingredients, grain-free. My cats love it and get full on quite a small amount.

I didn’t notice when ordering this new bag that the ingredients in the kibble had changed. This caused my cat serious digestive issues and a month-long treatment to fix things. Such a shame.

Our boys are used to various Royal Canin types. Those kibbles are a bit bigger, especially the Siamese variant. They do eat this food, but I expected them to be more enthusiastic since this one supposedly contains more real meat (which RC doesn’t have). But they’re doing well on it, so we’ll stick with it for now.

A Dutch friend recommended this brand to me, which I’d never heard of before. I tried it because it’s one of the few with little to no poultry in its ingredients. My cats love it and it suits them really well. The size of the kibble is perfect for adult cats and it actually smells quite appetising. I preferred the classic range over the active one, but it’s pretty much impossible to find now... Even so, I’m giving it a 10/10 for value for money.

I’ve been buying Carnilove for years because the ingredients used to be mainly “meat of...” and now it’s mostly “protein of...”, like “hydrolysed turkey protein”. And it’s more expensive than before too. I didn’t give it just 1 star because it’s still grain-free, so it’s not as bad as some others, but ultra-processed products? No thanks. Goodbye Carnilove, we’ll be looking for something else.

Before the packaging was changed, the description used to say that these foods—which were already expensive—protect the urinary tract. Now that’s no longer mentioned, but the price has gone up to an absurd level!
