XXL Jumbo Scratching Post

Both cats love it but I've completely replaced the sisal rope twice in the 2+ years we've had it. Thankfully the old rope was attached with hot glue and staples so it wasn't hard to replace. The base is heavy and sturdy. It hasn't had any wobbling even after years of heavy use. However, if you don't plan on upkeeping it, I probably wouldn't buy it - it seems a waste to throw away such a big piece of furniture after a year.

I have two cats, and both of them absolutely love this scratch post. They were using it within 30 seconds of me assembling it. My Maine coon loves it as it's tall enough for him to be able to stretch properly. It's really really good value - I bought one several years ago and it lasted for a very long time, and this replacement is just as popular as the first one. Would highly recommend this!

This post stood mostly ignored by my cats until recently when they started to use it as a stepping stone to another cat tree - this morning we noticed it had started to bend and pushed at it to find the whole thing unravelled as the central column is made of a thin single hollow CARDBOARD wrapping paper like roll (not even reinforced cardboard!)

Blown away by the size, quality and value of this scratching post! Like nothing I've seen in the shops. My girls love it.

At first this seemed comically tall, but the height is actually a huge plus because my cat can stretch out when she's Scratching.

Before this scratching post I had the previous model which was larger and heavier. The new one’s neat as it’s smaller and I like the grey colour rather than cream. After 3 months of use by 3 cats (a Rag-Coon and 2 BSH) it’s detroyed! I noticed the rope coil failing after 6 weeks of use, now it’s in tatters leaving fibres everywhere, the reason I replaced the old one which lasted around 3 years. The rope is too thin and not fit for purpose.

I bought this post specifically because my cats like to climb and sit on top and this one looked sturdy enough to allow for this. However, after two days, the cloth covering the top piece had ripped, and I caught them trying to eat the fuzz that kept coming off of the cheap material. I had to remove the top piece because it's not useable, and now I have to get some sisal and try to attach it so they can at least use the pole in the way I had intended. Very disappointing.

Great sturdy tall scratching post. Cats have already stopped scratching my furniture after only 1 day with this post.

Post cannot be assembled properly. Two of the pieces cannot be attached completely and after screwing them in there is a 1cm space left between them, making the post unstable and wobbly. The threads on the studs are of low quality - one stud got stuck in one of the wobbly pieces and it cannot be unscrewed.

I completely agree with some of the comments that the post got smaller to previous version and not as high. Additionally, mine is also defective. Middle part has to be attached by screws to other parts of the post but the holes were drilled incorrectly so it doesn't screw in completely on any of the sides and wobbles. What a shame and waste of money.

I bought this as a replacement for the one we've had for about 5 years. The design has changed and it's smaller and narrower than the previous one, which isn't too bad. It's strong and the cats love it. They preferred the old one because it was more stable, I can't really fault this one though.

I bought this post to replace another, which was too small for my long cat. The scratching post fits securely into the base and does not move when my cat uses it. I've not had the scratch post for long but the sisal has not frayed. The illustration shows a cat sitting on the top of the post. There is no way my cat would try to do this on such a narrow post.

just received this scratch pole , which was described as dark grey , however it is a horrible mouse brown colour , so I am very disappointed to say the least ! I know many people may think it is not important to match the colour scheme in your house but in my mind it makes it look less obvious so again I am not happy !

Excellent value for money. We have two cats and they both use the post. Would recommend to others as we were recommended to the site.

Product is good size, good balance but quality not so much. Rope is just stick to the top so after few months it's coming down and you can see a cardboard and material on the top is tearing apart. Anyway my cats like it.

I've had this tree for half a year now and it's called into action several times a day. It's so stable that my Norwegian Forest Cat can jump on it without knocking it over. The finish is very good and you can hardly tell it's been used after half a year. Holds firm even when both of my cats are playing on/with it. I can only recommend it.

Neat and robust cat tree. Perfectly adequate. High enough for cats to stretch and scratch like they would against a tree. We've had it for roughly 4 years and the sisal is only loose in one or two places. Good quality finish. Stable enough for bigger cats.

I also initially had the problem that the bit the base screwed into came away from the tube, but I glued it back in and attached two shelf brackets to the base and into the post itself and now my three cats happily run up and down it with no problem.

cat scratcher is an absolute bargain. its huge! my cats love climbing it. and showed interest in it as soon as it was displayed. amazing!

I bought this scratch post because a) I was waiting for a nice big pillar to be available and b) to stop my Coonie from destroying my yoga mats. As soon as I'd put the thing up, my cat was already on top of it. The second one was right on its tail but was quite disappointed when there was only space for one. My little ones go up and down the tree on the daily and love sitting on top and even my slightly older Persian gave climbing it a go. She's happy enough scratching for the moment (quite surprising in and of itself as she usually takes months to warm to new scratch posts!)

Falls apart in no time, so I bought a second one, but the quality is just as bad. Don’t buy it!

I've had it for a good 5 years now, but the cat has completely destroyed it :-) so I'm getting a new one—of course, the same one again. Absolutely delighted with it, it never tips over like other models.

I finally found a scratching post that fits. My cat is big and scratches while stretching his back. It's just like a tree trunk.

Thin string, rectangular-shaped base, so the scratching post falls on the cat and could break something. I don't recommend it.

The top part broke just two days after I bought it! The material is really poor quality.

Our Maine Coon cat hasn't managed to knock it over even when running at it, though he almost did once... it's pretty stable.

My 6-7kg cat uses it, it's stable and holds up well.

At first glance, it looks like a big, sturdy cat tree, but don’t be fooled: the scratching part wears out really quickly. I have two small Persian cats who only scratch it a few times a day, and after just a few months, it already looks terrible. The fibres are hanging off everywhere. On top of that, the post isn’t ‘closed’ at the top: it’s just a little cap over a tube. My cat used to love climbing up and sitting on top of the post, but that’s not possible with this model. In short, worthless.

Very good quality, it's my second one that I've bought.

We have two small cats at home who love climbing on it. One of them gets a running start from several metres away and jumps up, then sits halfway up with her claws dug in. The post stays steady even during this kind of attack.

This is the cat's second scratching post, replaced after a year. I think it looks nice and the cat uses it a lot. I just want to mention that the cat has several scratching posts around the house, all bought from Zooplus.

My cats love the scratching post, especially the trunk. Mainly they use it for scratching, but sometimes they also lie on the base element.

Quite a large post and with a bigger diameter than others, so it's suitable for bigger cats. My tomcat loves it, so it doesn't last very long.

The scratching post is excellent. It's sturdy and, above all, stable. We have two cats at home and it lasts us about a year. The fabric at the top wears out a bit faster, but we don't mind that. After each one is worn out, we buy a new one, exactly the same. Highly recommended.

It's a good product, even though the one I received at home was defective. Not a big deal, since it didn't affect the cord part. Anyway, years ago I got a white one and it worked perfectly.

Good size for large cats, but the fabric of the product tore from the top after just 4 months and is sagging down.

Very sturdy scratching post and just the right height for a slightly bigger kitty!
