Savic Dog Barrier 2 with Cat Door

I have bought two of these doors now. These are perfect for keeping pets safe from areas such a kitchens but allow them to still be part of home life. I have two young cats and it's fab for them. Easy to move, if needed. We moved it upstairs over Christmas to keep the cats out of my nieces rooms when they stayed. I don't tend to use the cat door (but it is handy to have). The only issue with the cat door is that it can't be secured in an open position and so does often tend to close. Great product though. Wish I bought ages ago!!

This is good if you need the small door, to give cats and small dogs access. However, if you don't need this there is an identical child gate available for less than half the cost of this.

The product doesn't match the photo. It says 'dog barrier', but at no point in the pictures do you see an extension.

The M8 rods provided with the gate aren’t long enough to hold the extensions added to the top of the gate. It’s supposed to keep big dogs in. I have a 3-month-old puppy and he’s already managed to weaken the gate by pushing on it three times. If you’re offering extensions, then include the right hardware—it's pretty annoying...

It's nice and tall, so my dog can't jump over it. However, the cat flap is way too big. My 22kg dog can easily get through it. As a temporary fix, I've tied some string to make the opening narrower, so it's only about two-thirds the size. Now my dog can't get through, and my 8kg cat can still easily pass. I need to come up with a more permanent solution, since I think the dog could easily chew through the string. But unfortunately, it won't be possible to close the flap anymore.

I'm disappointed because I only received one rod and that's it. I have no idea where the rest is. I can't do anything with just one rod. A long box, inside another box, and inside that just one rod and nothing else. Are these supposed to be the doors, just one rod?

We're really happy with the stair gate. It's super sturdy, easy to install, and opening and closing it is no hassle at all. We especially like the extension, which is really simple to attach. Overall, great quality – we'd buy the gate again any time and can definitely recommend it.

This is the third one I've bought and it meets all my requirements. I recommend it.

We use the door barrier for our Frenchies so they can't get into other rooms. Our doors are standard 80 cm, but you just need to adjust the side gaps a bit so the Frenchie can't squeeze through, as they're a little wider than the other gaps at 5.3 cm.

The width dimensions of the gate are not clearly stated. The gate itself is 72cm wide. Once you’ve put the adjustable screws on the sides to fix it against the walls (up to 84cm according to the listing), there’s a huge gap on the side where your dog can easily get through. The gate is 72cm wide and unless you buy an extension from them, you won’t get any more than that.

Unfortunately, the extension broke at the spot where you connect the pieces after my not-so-big dog jumped against it just once—both at the top and bottom. Because of that, I can’t use the gate. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Being from Savic, a good brand, it arrived with a very faulty closure.

I didn’t receive a barrier with a dog flap like in the photo, but just a bar. It’s either a mistake or a scam.
