This food probably isn’t perfect, but it works well for us. Since it contains shellfish, the cats don’t eat it. There’s a lot of criticism about this hedgehog food because it has grains in it and people say you should give cat biscuits instead. But cat biscuits also have grains and rice. The food is a bit crumbly, but the hedgehogs happily eat everything. The rest of the night they go foraging, so they’ll still get plenty of juicy worms, slugs, and insects. The idea is to supplement their diet!

The only good ingredients make up just 25%!!! That's way too little. Hedgehogs need at least 60-70% meat content. If you really want to do something good for hedgehogs, please go for high-quality cat food. And even that is cheaper. Special food is always easier to sell for more money. Unnecessary product!

Hedgehogs are insectivores and carnivores. They can't digest plant-based food or nuts. The food passes through them undigested and gives them no energy. That way, hedgehogs can't survive the winter. It would also be great if suppliers only sold really good and healthy food, so that companies making animals sick wouldn't be able to sell their products well.

Hedgehogs are pure insectivores and should only be given cat food (chicken or beef) by humans, without jelly, grains, sugar or any of that stuff. Hedgehogs are endangered, and well-meaning people buy this useless stuff with good intentions, but it actually harms the hedgehogs. Good intentions, but unfortunately not well executed. It's a shame that Zooplus sells things like this. What's even more disappointing is that so-called animal experts and pet food manufacturers still make and sell this kind of thing at all.

Hedgehogs shouldn't be given any grains. But grains are actually the main ingredient in this food!

This is not suitable food for hedgehogs!! It contains grains that shouldn't be given to hedgehogs, as well as nuts and fruit, which pet hedgehogs especially don't need.

Apart from a few crunchy balls and some unidentifiable crusts (probably insect larvae), there’s only dust and crumbs in the bag. Either crushed from storage, or just really old?? Anyway, the food doesn’t match the picture or the description. The crumbs – which are more like dust – aren’t eaten by the hedgehogs. They’d have to somehow lick it up. I’m not happy with the product. Now I’m trying to make a mash out of the powdery stuff, hoping it’ll be eaten.

I mix this treat with hedgehog and cat kibble, plus various dried critters for hedgehogs, and my little prickly ones love it – the tray is always licked clean! I also alternate it with cat tins. I'd really appreciate bigger packs. Up until midnight, there are about fifteen diners, and after midnight I have no clue, as I'm already tucked up in bed. I don't get why this product gets bad reviews – here, it's a hit, the hedgehogs are 100% happy. So I RECOMMEND IT!!!

Grain has no place in hedgehog food!!! I'm appalled that a well-known company is still offering unsuitable food for an insectivore.

My hedgehogs absolutely won't eat this, I ordered twice, opened one unfortunately, I'll try to return the other, but I'm still losing money.

The composition is nothing like a natural food source for hedgehogs and should definitely not be fed to them!

Unfortunately, it’s not getting eaten. The hedgehogs only eat the granulated pieces that are similar to cat food, and leave the rest behind.

The hedgehogs in my garden love it.
