Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic - Salmon is a premium complete wet food for adult cats which suffer from nutritional sensitivities. Many cats have an adverse reaction to some foods or additives. This can result in food intolerances and allergies. When your cat has an allergic reaction to food it is because the immune system is reacting badly to certain proteins. Food intolerance is not connected to the immune system. Both allergies and intolerances can cause skin and digestive problems such as itching and diarrhoea.

The best way to establish the cause of food intolerance is to put your pet on an elimination or exclusion diet with limited ingredients and a selected source of animal protein. Skin issues are not just caused by intolerance to certain foods but also a reaction to flea saliva or the environment. A diet with top quality fatty acids helps to support healthy skin.

This premium therapeutic food has been specifically developed to meet the nutritional needs of cats that suffer from food intolerances, allergies and skin problems. In order to reduce the possibility of raw ingredient and nutrient intolerance the only source of protein in this food is salmon. Excluding commonly used animal protein from your pet's diet helps to lessen the risk of an adverse reaction. This food is enriched with thistle oil which is particularly high in omega-3 fatty acids.

Feeding guide

Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Urinary is a dietetic complete wet food for adult cats.

Recommended feeding period:
  • Feed for 3-8 weeks to reduce intolerance to raw ingredients and nutrients
  • Continue to feed if intolerance diminishes
  • Feed up to 2 months to support skin function in dermatosis and excess hair loss

  • This is a complete cat food and should be fed according to the feeding guidelines, however feeding amounts should be adapted depending on your cat's level of activity, age or breed

Awful, avoid

My cats would not even come close to this, no matter how much they are starving. I have mixed it with foods they like and they still wouldn't touch it. Oher foods they dont like they end up making an effort and eating them when they're very hungry, not this one. Looks and smells pretty badly.

Only thing my cat can eat

Smells pretty strongly of salmon and has a very strange look and consistency. But it is the only thing my cat can keep down after a long course of antibiotics, so it has literally been a lifesaver for him.

Not appealing

Bought this to try for one of my cats who is suffering from bowel and digestive disorders, we were advised to try a hypoallergenic food. This is very bland and unappealing, none of my cats would go near. Won't even try any! Would not recommend, shame to waste so much food

Digestive issues under control

At the start Lucky only ate this food reluctantly but now she loves it. Her digestive issues have also improved, and no more diarrhea either. She gets less to eat now (MACs), but has still managed to gain a little bit of weight. I am very happy that I decided to try this food.

Pretty good

My cat has very fatty fur because he reacts allergically to the usual high-quality food. I have tried lots of hypoallergic foods, and so far this is the only one that has worked, although it's not some miracle cure because her fur is still a little fatty, but definitely much less than before.
