Even after years of domestication, cats are still small predators. This is due to their wild cat ancestry. Although they have become true friends to us humans today, they still display many of the behaviours of their wild ancestors. These small predators with velvet paws are true carnivores, which has not changed over the course of evolution. The nutrients that cats find in their prey are ideal.
