Why is there always a little water and/or jelly in Terra Canis Light for dogs? Quite simply: both fresh meat and fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs have a very high natural water content in their raw state (70% to 90%). During the heating process in production, some of this water is released from the raw ingredients. Unlike cooking in an open pot, when cooked in a sealed can, this water cannot be poured off or evaporate. It therefore remains in the can. As Terra Canis deliberately avoids using grains/pseudocereals and synthetic binding agents in these menus, this free water cannot be bound. The cooking process gives it a jelly-like consistency. This jelly is a natural result of cooking and should definitely be fed along with the food, as it contains numerous important native nutrients from the raw ingredients. The contents of these cans do not generally contain significantly more water than the Terra Canis Classic menus with grains/pseudocereals. In those, this water is simply bound by millet, brown rice or amaranth and is therefore not visible.
