The basis of a long and active dog life is a species-appropriate, balanced nutrition, especially during the all-important development and growth phases. Unlike smaller breed puppies which tend to reach adulthood by 10-12 months, X-large breed puppies take longer and have two growth phases. The second growth phase starts when your giant puppy is about 8 months old and stops sometime between 18 – 24 months, depending on its adult size and weight. During this second phase, the muscles grow and strengthen. Your puppy needs a diet rich in premium animal protein. Its food should also support good cartilage and joint development. And it needs an easily digested food as it might still have a sensitive digestive system.

Concept for Life X-Large Junior dry dog food is formulated to suit the specific needs of junior giant breed dogs and offers a balanced diet for optimal all-round care. It provides your young dog with a balanced, holistic diet that supports its nutritional demands. The adapted fat and energy content ensure a balanced, controlled growth. The right balance of premium animal protein, combined with L-carnitine ensure that muscles develop properly, especially in the crucial second growth phase. The recipe also contains glucosamine and chondroitin, natural substances which encourage healthy bones and cartilage. Concept for Life combines lots of carefully selected fresh meat, a good source of high-quality protein, with other functional ingredients to create a balanced mix of premium nutrients. The resulting kibble is easy to digest and well accepted.

The special vitamin-B-complex works in combination with copper, organically-bound zinc, as well as high-quality omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, to help to promote glossy fur and supple skin. The Stay-Clean™ complex with highly soluble vitamin C reduces the formation of bacterial plaque and dental tartar. It also contains special plant fibres which help to mechanically clean your dog’s teeth. Young dogs can be picky and they especially enjoy this tasty food with lots of fresh meat.

Concept for Life is a unique and scientific-based nutritional concept, which focuses on your dog’s individual well-being and dietary requirements at different life stages. The variety X-Large Junior provides your giant breed junior dog with a balanced nutrition during the 2nd phase of development when your dog is aged 8 to 18-24 months.

Concept for Life – tailored nutrition for your pet.

Perfect size for our giant
We ordered this for our Do Khyi and he loves eating it. After the X-Large Puppy we have switched over to X-Large Junior and we are very happy. No growing pains so far, which we used to get with our big dogs. The kibble has a good size, the smell is pretty good, and our Newfoundland dog (who's 5 years old) can't help but steal a chunk or two, even though he is normally very fussy. A great choice for us :)

My Dane loves it!!
After trying him on various kibble this is by far his favourite. His tail wags as soon as it's being put out. Due to the biscuits being on the large side it has even stored him gobbling up his food so no need for a slow feeder bowl anymore.

The kibble is average when it comes to quality, the pieces are very brittle and break into thousands of little bits. My dog shows little reaction when I put this in his bowl, and the food gives him wind (of the gastric variety). I wouldn't recommend this product.

Concept for life
I finally found a tasty kibble for my pup. now she does not run away when I have filled her tray with chunks. and I can kill two birds with one stone, hahaha. it is also a good remedy against pulling on the leash, if you take it as a snack in your hand she will walk along next to you. this is indeed a Concept For Life

This is a great kibble, lots of nutrients and a great price. My woody is fairly fussy but has eaten all of this food about 90% of the time, I would recommend it.

Too rich
Started my labrador on this last week with high hopes but, unfortunately, her flatulence came back and I have had to go back to her other food. It looks as though her digestion couldn't cope with it so, sorry, won't be buying again.

Great food
I mixed this with my dogs original food so I could introduce it slowly. Both dogs picked out the large chunks from their bowls and eat those first. Both of them loved it.
