Daily feeding amounts:

Weight loss:
Determine the amount to feed your dog based on the target weight, not the current weight.

Weight maintenance:
Weigh your dog regularly as part of its weight maintenance programme and adjust the feeding amounts accordingly.
When you feed your dog Hills Prescription Diet Canine for the first time mix it with your dog's old food. Mix increasing amounts of the new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7 day period until you are only feeding Metabolic to your dog.

A little disappointed

We are giving out German Shepard strict portions and exercising him regularly but not seeing the weight loss…. He is on it over 6 months and has list 3kg

This product has done wonders for my dog, she was very overweight & I have had her on this now for 3 years & she is so much fitter, slimmer & much more lively, I would highly recommend this for your dog, the large bag is great and it lasts a good while.

Does what it says

I was advised to put my Fur Baby on this by the Vet, as no matter how much exercise he got, he could not loose the excess weight, he has been on this food since September 2020 and is now down to his target weight of 12.5kg, from 19.8kg .

Good food!

Fed this to my overweight Bassett hound and he instantly ate it dry. He tends to be quite fussy about eating his food without wet food so I was surprised to say the least! He gradually lost weight and is now 1kg away from where the vet wants him to be. The only thing I would say is that his coat seemed to be duller on this food but that's the only downside. I would reccommend this food to anyone with a slightly porky pet

Perfect

I have 5 beagles and this has not only allowed them all to steadily and safely lose weight down to their ideal weights but also it has done so without them scavanging for food or even appearing hungry. It must be palatable as, even the fussiest dog we have loves it. It has also stabilised our diabetic dog on significantly less insulin as it slow releases sugars into the blood stream. I won't change my 5 off this now. Their weight is stable, they are happy and absolutely nothing goes to waste.
