In advanced age, the dog needs a targeted diet that is adapted to its changed nutritional needs. Opti Life Senior Medium & Maxi is therefore tailored to the needs of older dogs of medium and large breeds. Activity decreases with age and the metabolism slows down, overweight can quickly be the result. A protein content of 21% and a fat content of only 10% can counteract this. At the same time, the dog is supplied with enough energy to stay fit and vital
To support the heart function of the senior dog, taurine has been added to this dry food. The joints of older dogs are often damaged, and glucosamine and chondroitin can help keep the joints supple and the cartilage healthy. Natural antioxidants such as grape seeds, rosemary, marigolds and green tea can strengthen the dog's defences and may offer protection against cell ageing. FOS and MOS are prebiotics that have a positive effect on the intestinal tract and intestinal flora. They promote the good bacteria in the intestine and counteract the spread of pathological bacteria.
Gluten, wheat and maize were deliberately avoided in the production process, which reduces the likelihood of food intolerance. Senior dogs in particular become very fussy as they get older, so a particularly tasty recipe ensures the best acceptance!
