Keeping the kitten speeding about
I knew as soon as I had put it together I was onto a winner! The kitten loves it and he spends ages chasing the ball up and down the track and batting it with his paw. The rollercoaster element where the ball rolls easily up and down the track is really good because it means that even with just a small tap you get a lot of movement which in turn means a lot of flashing light therefore holding your cats attention. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a speed circuit as its not reaching amazing speeds but this of course depends on how hard you hit the ball.
The ball flashes red which I think is a great addition to this toy as it keeps my kittens attention and gives him a visual focus. This is also really useful for me when I’m trying to get out of the front door and he’s determined to come with me! It’s not a very noisy toy which is good because he often decides that 5:00am is the perfect time to be playing with it. It does have a noise where the ball rolls but it’s not too loud and the ball is just solid unlike some of his other toys which rattle etc.
I would say this was one of his bigger toys, though he does have quite a few big toys. The whole flat looks like a cat hotel! However, if not in use you can very easily take this apart and put it away within a couple of minutes. My kitten often likes to bring his out with him when we go out for the day as it is one of his favourites and he does like to play with it. Another thing I’ve noticed he likes to do before it gets put back together is play with the ball on its own! The ball is motion sensored so it does work without the track which is great until it goes under a cabinet! However, replacement balls are available and I am thinking about getting some of these for him just to have to play with as he does seem to like them.
We’ve had this around 2 months now, maybe a little longer. It still looks brand new despite it being played with daily and regularly. It is also a toy that he ends up being a little rough with as he jumps over it and runs up and down trying to get the ball. He also likes it if we play with him with him sat at one end and us at the other hitting it back and forth.
It’s also worth noting that the cats we have at my parents house who are both 15 next month are also quite interested in this. They don’t really play with it but Tigger has shoved a paw in a few times and Thomas likes to sit and observe, watching the ball.
I cannot fault this toy. It keeps my kittens attention well and he really enjoys playing with it. We’ve had it about 2 months and he is still very interested in it and plays with it every day I actually bought him a standard track too to connect to it and make it longer and this has proven to be a huge hit
