Hill's Prescription Diet Feline y/d Thyroid Care - cat wet food

Unfortunately even when really hungry my cat wouldn’t touch it. The texture is also dry. I would highly recommend just try a can first before splashing out on a case as is not cheap and could go to waste like mine.

My 17 year old furbaby was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism 12 months ago and had been on medication. I have chosen this diet (wet and dry) for him instead of continuing the meds which seemed to be making him ill. He seems so much brighter. He is still underweight, but early days. I mix the wet food with some warm water. I have crushed some of the dry food and sprinkle this on top of the wet food to make it a bit more appetising.

My Chayenne's thyroid blood tests have returned to normal since starting on this food. I'd recommend it.

our 13 year old cat started to get very thin in Oct 15 (even though he ate loads of his normal food), and his coat looked really scraggy. We went to the vet who diagnosed thyroid problems, and then gave us 3 options: an operation, medication or this special diet. We went for the latter option and after a short time the cat was back to a normal weight and looking healthy again. He's started to play again too, which is the most important thing.

After consulting our vet for our cat who has hyperthyroidism, we have been using this food for about a year. He only eats this food and he's really back to what he was like before he got sick. Fantastic! He has a really shiny coat and he's behaving as cats normally do - playing around, getting into everything, and not stressed at all.

My cat is 12 and has an overactive thyroid. I bought this product about 3 weeks ago and since then her thyroid tests are in the normal range again. She really likes the food, so I'd recommend it to anyone else. The vet recommended it to me.

This food has saved my cat! He was very thin and unhappy, tablets didn't help him and made him very sick but this food has transformed him, he has doubled in weight and is much more relaxed, so pleased!

Torn box, really poor packaging, definitely not great. The pâté tins were loose and falling out of the box – needs to be looked at!!!

Kibble very much appreciated by my two cats aged 13 and 14, who were diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Even though Bimo, the 13-year-old, is missing some teeth, he can still eat the kibble easily—the size is perfect. His test results have become normal, so no more medication to give him morning and evening, just keep following the special diet. We'll see about Hermes, the 14-year-old, at the next vet visit.

We've been buying this kibble for over two years now, and our cat's illness has stabilised ☺️. After the disastrous trial of the medication the vet said was essential, we decided to trust our instincts, and we're so grateful these kibbles exist—thank you 🫶. Blood tests and time have clearly shown that it works!

A couple of weeks ago, my 15-year-old cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. We got a bit scared and bought the y/d tins. For me, the downside is that they only come in packs of 12, not fewer, and they're not mousse-type. For my cat, they're no good. He sniffs them and walks away. I've already gone through a can and a half and he hasn't eaten any of it. Luckily, food lasts if he likes it. So I hope that with this food, by the end of the month his T4 levels will have dropped and he won't need medication. I'll donate the tins to a shelter, because they're just not for him.

Found it through online research – it was “unknown and unavailable” at pet stores. Since I’ve already wasted a lot of money on my picky cat, I asked my vet before ordering. He checked the ingredients and gave Hill’s the thumbs up! And Kitty loved this dry food straight away. We’ve now also got the wet food. Highly recommended!

I've managed to keep the illness under control just by feeding these kibbles alone.

This is the second time I’ve received this product with the fat coming out of the beans and a floury texture. After I complained about the first order, I was sent a proper product. Now the situation is happening again.

My cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a few years ago. Started with Alpelka mixture and he was on it for a few months. He got a rash and lost hair on his forehead. Stopped with that and switched to Hills Thyroid Care. The cat liked the food and has been on it for the past few years. All blood tests are great and the cat is thriving now. I recommend this and the wet food.

We were forced to switch to this food, both dry and wet, because my kitty is allergic to thyroid medication. I have to say she eats it willingly, and her values stay pretty stable and balanced for her age.

The Hills y/d thyroid dry food product is altered, with an irregular texture and a layer of "dust" (fine crumbs) on the surface, looking like "cornmeal". Hill's Prescription Diet y/d Thyroid Care should be dry and crunchy. Instead, the kibbles feel "oily" or "wet" and there are cornmeal-like residues around the edges.
