alpha spirit The Only One Wild Fish - dog dry food

All of my dogs are sensitive, but one in particular has allergies to Grain, Beef, Chicken, Pork and many others. She can only eat fish, fruits and veg. We've tried so many dry foods including Orijen and Arden Grange and she got flare ups(skin flaking, itching and redness all over her body). We moved off dry food and made homemade meals which she loves. We found Alpha Spirit three months ago and gave it a try. All the dogs love it and no skin allergies or flare ups. Won't use any other food.

We have a very sensitive bobtail who is allergic to the majority of foods which basically means she's on a fish and vegetable diet. She absolutely loves this plus it brings up none of her symptoms and skin issues. We've realised that some foods are not telling the truth as James Wellbeloved all fish gives her flare ups.. Well made and all three dogs love it!

Our dog has an allergy to cereals, chicken and pork, and we have always given Alpha Spirit treats with Orijen food. When we found out that Alpha Spirit also had food we didn't think twice and we love it! The kibble pieces are large and easy to chew, and the smell that comes out of the bag is impressive! The only downside is that there is not more variety, as our other dog eats chicken but we cannot alternate it. I will try to alternate it with some Acana lamb.

Excellent kibble with a good recipe and well tolerated even by difficult dogs. Good digestibility and excellent results for fur and energy.

What can I say about the Alpha Spirit brand? It is great! Both their snacks and their food! The fish is alternated with Lukullus (also great in my opinion). The fish has a spectacular smell, I would even try it! It has an ideal level of moisture, unlike other food that can have dry, small, hard pieces that are impossible to chew or digest. You pay for extra quality and it shows in the coat and digestion of my dogs. I will continue buying and alternating this with another cold-pressed food.

We have 4 dogs of different ages and one has dietary allergies, which is why I mainly feed fish in ready-made foods. The Only One is easily accepted and tolerated by everyone. BUT the smell is tricky...I hope it doesn't smell so bad to the dogs. I'm not that squeamish but this smells worse than any dog food I have tried - even green tripe almost smells better than it, hence the 1 star reduction.

My dog likes the herring smell... I think we will stay with Alpha Spirit for a while...

Other brands are no comparison. I think this kibble is of a much higher quality.

My dogs love it. I gave them several foods to try at once and this was the one they went for, they would not leave their bowls and were asking for more!

This brand is more than 100% recommended, my little ones like the snacks and so now I bought this food food. It was opened and so was my dog's appetite! He was able to eat it after eating Orijen for a long time. It is similar to cold pressing but it has a noticeable degree of moisture, as something soft (neither jelly nor dry). I bought it for the brand, its ingredients for joints, being more digestible than normal feed and also for being fish.

With this and isolating chicken and grains we have managed to improve my dog's dermatitis. He has enjoyed it from day 1 and eats very well. The vomiting and diarrhoea caused by grain and chicken meal has disappeared. I think it is a very good quality and recommend it.

Excellent product based on 100% high quality fish and concentrates. Available in semi-moist and dry formats. The soft one is in tubs that allows you to use it as a reward and is useful for transporting, the dry is excellent for meals at any time. Thanks to zooplus!

Friends of mine in Spain use this food and have always sworn by it. I am delighted that it is finally available at zooplus. I only feed this, as it is well tolerated and the ingredients convince me 100%. I also take the price into account.

Smells great and my dog loves it, and his stomach is working perfectly now!!!!

My doggy is allergic to poultry. This food is perfect. His poos are perfect too. And smaller, which means the food is really well digested. My dog loves it. Plus, it doesn’t have that unpleasant fishy smell. The scent is neutral. The only downside is the bag the food comes in. Because it’s a bit moist, you have to transfer it to an airtight container after opening so it doesn’t dry out. Other than that, it’s great.

Unfortunately, something has changed. The food used to have a strong fish smell, but now you can't really tell what it is—it definitely doesn't smell like fish anymore. The colour is different too, so the ingredients must have changed, even though the description still promises the world. The food just sits in the bowl, my dog doesn't want to eat it, and when he finally does, his stools are unpleasant.

The food is good for boxers, no chicken which causes allergies, and ingredients for joints. The food is moist and soft, so you need to remember to give something hard for their teeth (chews, bars).

The quality of the dog food has dropped significantly. My dog is less eager to eat it now and has also had constipation, which never happened before.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that the quality of the food has dropped a lot. My pet used to eat the previous packs with gusto, but now he eats it only with great reluctance. The food is hard, and the colour and smell are different.

My dog had been eating this food for several years and everything was fine. I should add that he’s not a picky eater at all—he’ll eat literally anything—but he could barely force down the last two bags, and often didn’t even finish his portion. He eats other foods quickly and with appetite. The appearance and smell of the food have changed. Now it just stinks. We’re switching to another brand.

The dog food is bland and has no smell. Before, when you opened it, it had a fishy scent, but the last bag smells at least strange. My dog doesn't even go near it in the morning anymore. I'm just curious if it's because of this production batch or if it's going to be like this from now on.

Unfortunately, the dog food has "gone bad"—I suspect they've changed the recipe. It looks different, smells different, and my dog ended up with terrible constipation.

I can confirm other users' concerns. This was the only food my chestnut tolerated well. The last bag, though, was basically little pebbles—hard, pale, and stinky, you could break windows with them. The manufacturer hasn't released any official info about a recipe change, but the fact is the quality has definitely gone downhill. I also noticed a problem with constipation.

Unfortunately, I have to agree that something has changed in the food, and not for the better. The food looks different, plus my dogs have started having digestive issues after eating it, whereas before everything was always perfect.

Fantastic all-natural food. Our hunting Labrador got her zest for life and explosive energy back after just a week on this food, having completely crashed on Purizon Single Meat, which totally wrecked her digestion in just a few months. Firm, neat, and minimal stools, soft and shiny coat, no itching, healthy ears, alert, quick, lively, and happy to work again.

I was happy with my first purchase of a single 12kg bag. The second time, I decided to get two bags to save a bit of money, but this time the kibble was much harder and less, let's say, moist than before—almost like extruded kibble. I didn’t like it much.

They most likely changed the formula of the food, because both of my dogs, who have been eating it for years, suddenly got constipated. After switching to a different food, the symptoms disappeared. It's a shame, because now we have to look for something new.
