Modern Living Mochi Drinking Fountain

Even without filling it above the MAX level marked on the fountain, after one of the cats drinks from it, the pump starts throwing all the water out until it runs dry.

Unfortunately, there's something wrong with the design—every now and then, water spills out of the fountain and floods the floor. It's been happening since the beginning, and even after cleaning, the problem keeps coming back. Water slowly seeps from the fountain along the cable.

Bought in mid-March and it already stopped working by the end of April. Barely lasted a month. Can't return the item. Nothing can be done.
