Cat's Best Original Cat litter

It absolutely stank!! Did not cover the smell at all and the litter itself had a very strong smell - it felt like I was living in a pet shop, other clumping cat litters do not have this very strong smell. I had to give this bag away on a no waste Facebook group and drive to maxi zoo to get a proper cat litter.

Clumps well but does not cover the odour well and is the worst fir tracking. It sticks to the cats paws in clumps and was all over the house needing multiple hoovers a day. Could not finish the bag it was so bad.

i got this litter based on all the positive feedbacks but from my opinion its absolut disaster, does not clump well and it sticks to the paws and leaves the trace around the whole house like crazy even with a mat under the litter

Wanted to try something more cost-effective than the current litter which, for three cats, was proving expensive. Yes, this litter clumps (previous litter was non-clumping) but it also sets like concrete in the bottom of the litter tray even if just slightly moist. As for the litter scoop - you can't just rinse the litter off, you need a sharp implement to scrape it off. The litter scatters all over the place. You can see exactly where the cats have gone after exiting the tray. Never again.

I used this product for nearly 10 year never had any problems. Zoo plus can check the my shopping history. But this time I must got new formula stuff.What’s like?If you put few drops perfume in it. It will inlarge 10 times the fragrance diffuse whole house. And the smell can last for few days after you remove the litter box. I swear —there’s no any exaggerated for this describe .The stinky makes me get up from my bed to write You can use this stuff for anything else but not for CAT LITTER!!

What have they done to this? It used to be a simple, absorbent cleanable product. Now it sets like glue and cleaning the litter tray is like trying to clean sticky bread dough from a table top. I am going to throw the rest of the bag in the dustbin and buy something paper based.

I bought a bag of this litter because it seemed excellent - organic, clumping and not as expensive as some (though certainly not cheap). I really liked it. Unfortunately, my cats didn't. It was rather amusing, watching them put a paw into the litter try, withdraw it, shake the litter off and examine the paw with an expression of disgust. The litter tray has been unused for a week now (the cats used the alternative tray) and I'm now dumping the stuff and replacing it with litter they will use.

Bought this because I couldn't get 'universal '. When wet it cakes itself to the bottom of the tray (universal just tips out) and requires scraping off. Like all cat litter it gets between their toes and spread on the floor, but this gets everywhere and travels from the utility room to just about every corner of the house. Definitely more hassle than it's worth.

This cat litter WAS fantastic. The most recent bag was quite different - much larger pellets which I initially thought would be great as less likely to track out of the litter box. The problem is the product does not clump AT ALL any longer. It just dissolves into sawdust which then contaminates the rest of the litter. It also smells, which it never did before. Won't be buying again, particularly as I emailed the manufacturer to see if I had just got a faulty batch and they didn't even reply.

My three indoor cats got a very bad reaction from using this cat litter within 3 days of use. They got running eyes and sneezing. I took one of them to the vet as he was very bad. Following treatment he recovered completely. I removed all the cat litter and my cats recovered.

This is dreadful stuff. It gets caught up in the cats' claws and can be found in every part of the house. Mind you, the cats like it because they have great fun scratching up piles of it and spreading them in all directions. Nor is it particularly economical because it forms enormous damp clumps which have to be removed. Much as the cats will no doubt miss their fun, I am going back to Catsan.

I had been using cheap litter from from a value supermarket and an open litter tray for 1 adolescent cat. It wasn't too bad. Then I purchased a jumbo cat toilet from zooplus and some of this oko plus litter. Oh my god...after one use I was convinced my cat had gone to the loo on the carpet, because the smell was awful, I mean it couldn't have been any worse if he had done a poo on my lap. Granted it clumps and absorbs well, but does absolutely nothing for the smell. Perhaps my cat has more foul smelling poo than the other users, or something? Also it tracks everywhere despite having a grated catch tray at the exit of the toilet. It sticks to the paws, fur and every part of the the cat that touches it. I'm not surprised it got stuck in one user's cat's eye. My house is now a mesy smelly place. Fortunately my cat will always look to go outside to the loo before using the tray, but for a lot of people this isn't an option. My verdict..avoid and try something else.

do not use this litter, part of the litter got stuck in my cats eye. which resulted in an eye infection. which lead to sugery, during surgrey there were complications with the anaestetic and my cat nearly surcumbed to it. if i hadnt of tryed thi litter, my cat would never have nearly died. be warned!!!

We didn't like it, it doesn't clump well, what a mess I made trying to clean it. It turns into something like mud.

I've been using it for 12 years, it used to be the best litter, but now it's a disaster, just dust, it's no longer granules like it used to be. I'll never buy it again!

Used to be the best cat litter, I bought it for over a dozen years, but for the past few months the quality has clearly dropped, and since September 2026 it’s just a disaster—different colour, different smell, loads of sharp bits that get stuck in my cat’s paws, it’s dusty, and it doesn’t clump. I made a complaint about one pack and big thumbs up to Zooplus for sorting it out, but unfortunately the problem keeps happening with the next deliveries. The smaller packs (ordered to try) are just as bad, unfortunately.

It used to be my favourite, but now it's not worth the price. It doesn't clump well and falls apart when you try to move it to the toilet. Clearly, the manufacturer tried to cut costs, but being stingy ends up costing you twice…

It seems this is a new batch and they've made changes to the product, which has ended up making it one of the worst I've ever used. Even its appearance has changed: it used to be light-coloured and yellowish, but now it's kind of grey. The price had already gone up quite a bit, but we kept buying it because it was the best for what we needed it for. Unfortunately, with these latest changes, they've completely ruined it.

I used to use it over 5 years ago but I won’t buy it anymore. I’ve given it several chances and it just keeps getting more expensive and the quality is really poor. IT DOESN’T CLUMP AT ALL. I’m switching to another brand. Farewell, CATS BEST.

I was always satisfied with Catsbest cat litter. The last two batches I ordered in September 2026 are the worst quality litter I’ve ever received. I contacted customer service because of this. It doesn’t clump, even after hours, and spreads all over the litter box. I changed it three days ago and will have to replace it completely again in the next few days because the urine clumps are spreading everywhere and it’s starting to smell. Something really needs to be done about this.

It used to be good years ago, but now it's ridiculously expensive and the quality has dropped so much that it smells bad, doesn't clump, and turns to dust by the second day. My cats don't want it anymore and I'm not surprised. The whole house smells awful and that's another customer they've lost.

A bit like porridge oats mixed with Portland cement. The clumping is just a mess.

I bought this litter on the recommendation of friends who use it and praised its quality a lot. Unfortunately, for me and my cats, it turned out to be a nightmare. The litter was tracked not only all over the bathroom but throughout the entire flat, even though I had a special mat in front of the litter box. It looks like oat flakes and even behaves similarly when it gets wet. It doesn’t clump; yes, it forms a ball, but it’s muddy. It sticks to the bottom of the litter box and falls apart when the cat digs in it. I do not recommend it.

I've been using this litter for four years and was always happy with it. It used to clump well, lasted ages, kept the smell under control, and didn't create any dust. But now it just has an unpleasant smell, even if you sift the tray every day and add fresh litter. When you fill it up, it gets dusty, and the clumps fall apart when you sift them. After only a short time, the tray is more dust than litter. Unfortunately, I really can't recommend it anymore.

Our first packs were really impressive. These days, we steer clear of it. Unfortunately, it absolutely reeks, makes a huge mess, and it doesn't clump anymore either. There are much better alternatives out there!

I've been using this litter for over 10 years. The last two bags, though, the quality has really gone downhill. The litter is darker now and much less absorbent. The clumps fall apart and dirty the rest of the clean litter, which makes it smell bad really quickly. Not great for automatic litter boxes. Time to look for an alternative.

I’ve seen that other people have had the same experience as me. I bought it for two years, it was really excellent. For months now, it’s not the same anymore. It DOESN’T CLUMP anymore. As for the smell, unfortunately I’ll have to try again because I bought a similar one, but the bad odour isn’t neutralised.

The sand is very dusty, which is a shame because it goes a long way and clumps well.

I bought this litter because it was supposed to be very low in dust. But that's really the only advantage! As for CLUMPING litter...???? Every clump falls apart as soon as you lift it out of the tray, or even just shake it a bit on the scoop to let the clean litter fall back into the tray. So better not to shake it and just throw everything in the bin. What a waste! Even my three cats prefer to use the other tray, which still has the "old" type in it. Never again!!!!!
