It’s empty in here!
This is just excellent! It does not smell AT ALL, provided of course you follow instructions. I use one scoop for the poops with big holes so that litter can fall through and one much more compact for the pee which gets clumped after about 15 minutes and is easily scraped off the tray. There is minimum tracking. The only 'disadvantage' for some may be the colour (brown) but this does not mean anything to me.The price seems high but it is very economical in use and safe for my cat.Just purrfect!!
This is a great litter, however it makes it hard to see any change sin your cats faecal matter as it is a very dark litter. The smell is dramatically reduced and for me it lasts three weeks with 3 cats. Overall a great cat litter, that I would recommend!
I tried this cat litter as had enough of the tracking with my other brand. I find this litter much better. There is some tracking but it doesn't go far from the box, unlike the other which went all over the house. It's smells nice clumps we'll and quickly. Easy to use and my cats like it.
I keep my cat litter trays in the bathroom (smells all in the same place!) I scoop this up and straight into the toilet. I change and clean the whole tray fortnightly.
This is a great product and having tried 'Worlds Best Cat Litter' in one tray and this in another - both of our cats much prefer this. My only criticism is that, like a lot of other eco litters, it is lightweight and so can end up on the floor around the tray. The positives outweigh this though - clumps well, flushes well, doesn't seem to smell and the cats are happy using it.
It is great litter. It smells good. The cats are happy with it. I would buy it again except for two things. First, it is dark in colour so it is hard to clean if the litter box is in a dark place. Also the walnut is gritty and if your cat walks litter all over the floor don't walk around in bare feet!
Two 9 month B. Shorthair share a tray. Tried -worlds best cat litter, OkO litter .. this is great for smell and no dust!! It does clump well, those who say not are not putting enough litter in tray. Lasts ages. Flushable. Very pleased. Great price also
This is simply the easiest and best cat litter around. It clumps perfectly and has no smell at all other than a faint walnut smell which is actually really nice. No dust, no faff, no brainier
Fantastic. Does the job brilliantly. I keep my cat tray in the loo, so just chuck it down the loo! Best ever - no smell. Thank you.
Does not smell, clumps quickly, chuck it down the loo. Brilliant. Best ever!
We tried this after searching high and low for a more eco friendly clumping cat litter. World's Best was no good because our elderly cat started eating it as soon as it came out of the bag! Found this on offer and gave it a go. It doesn't smell, doesn't dust, and clumps fine. 2 weeks in and the litter hasn't need to be changed, or even topped up, with 2 cats using it. Doesn't stick to long fur, and doesn't track any more than other litters (it just looks like it does because of the dark colour).
2 x Devon Rex and one tray - Having tried a huge selection including worlds best/ silica/wood pellets/paper pellets this is the best yet. Flushable which is great, easy to clean and lasts AGES if you keep it fresh and change daily. All litters track but this is by far the best I've used. It doesn't stick to their paws, few grains around the tray but not dusty at all. Natural and smells neutral.
Not great when you have two cats sharing a tray. Doesn't clump as well as other litters and tray begins to smell even though it's emptied daily.
After trying so many cat litters i have found this great product
The best litter I have found for minimal tracking with long haired cats. Clumping not the best but good odour control.
I have always had 4/5 cats in my household and can say that of all the cat litters I have used in the past 20 years that this is the best. It smells light and refreshing. It clumps well - not so much that you need strength to get it off the bottom of the tray like some clay ones and the clumps are much lighter. Sift this once a day it will last ages and ages as it is so accurate in separating the contaminated parts. A very important point is that it is flushable so very eco friendly.
Would buy no other. This stuff is the best.
I'm kind of new to the Cat business and tried many different types and I thought it was normal that Cat litter is smelly and just unpleasant to clean how wrong I was,I like Applaws Cat food so decided to give the Cat litter I try, have to say when I opened the first time I was very disappointed it looked like brown mass which with lumps in it, than I tried it,it takes the smells away very fast , it clumps perfectly which means a Bag lasts really for ages and the nicest thing about it's flushable
We have two long-haired cats: a Persian and a Maine Coon. Finding appropriate litter was always a challenge as they kept dragging it everywhere around the house. This litter is very economic - a bag last us over a month and clumps really well comparing to other biodegradable litters. It still drags a small bit outside the litter box but only around it. It also stains a small bit (so keep this in mind if you have a white cat) but still is better than everything we've used before.
My kittens just would not use them, I don't really know why, maybe it smell weird to them cuz to me it smells a bit dump. or it hurt their paw. I love the idea of it tho. I think it such a shame as I tried to get my kitten of out SaniCat littre as I rather use something natural.
After years of using paper based litter I am a convert to this. So easy to clean tray by scooping lumps which have minimal odour as they are encased in litter granules. The tray always looks like its just been filled with new litter. Having a good depth in the tray means that the tray itself doesn't get dirty. A bag will last much longer than my previous litters. You do need to sieve around a bit with the scoop to find the buried lumps. Using a mat minimises tracking.
Honestly the best litter out there, I've tried many. It just doesn't smell, clumps really well (doesn't break into smaller blocks when you collect your cat's presents), my cats love it, it's environmentally friendly, can be flushed in the loos, leaves really no tracks in comparison to Oko cat's best (which I love but the tracking is terrible) GIVE IT A TRY!!
I have a creamy Persian cat. Throughout his 3 years with me I tried the following litters: - Applaws Nature's Calling: My favourite and best of all. Has a pleasant smell, traps odours well (but, have to admit, not so good as Cat's Best Oko Plus), clumps reliably and lasts long (I usually pour half of pack at once, so 2 packs of 6kg last for 1,5-2 months). It does track a bit though, but least of all the litters I've tried and sweeping/hoovering once or twice a week is enough. The only minus is that it colours my cat's creamy paws as it is dark brown. - Cat's Best Oko Plus: It traps odours very well, lasts for long (similar to Applaws) and has no issues with clumping. However, this is probably the worst tracking litter I had. I had to hoover/brush twice a day as little bits stick onto cat's paws and fur and is spread everywhere at home. I didn't even use all pack, switched back to Applaws. - Cat's Best Nature Gold: Tried once. The pellets are really large and this makes clumping not so effective. I bought it because it said that it does not stick to fur and is suitable for long haired cats. Well, those pellets did stick to my cat's fur and tracked a lot. Though it is environmentally friendly and eliminates smells for some time. But loose litter eventually becomes smelly and you have to change it. - Porta Pine Wood: Good cat litter, would rank it 2nd after Applaws. It smells fresh and is literally dust free, leaves no visible marks. It lasts long, great odour control, clumps well and my cat loved it. However, it tracks quite badly, but not as bad as Cat's Best Oko Plus. - Catsan Hygiene: Not good at all. Never bought again. Clumps stay wet for a long time making it difficult to remove from the box, and when they dry they glue to the box so that I had to scratch them off. Controls smell bad, tracks a bit and clumps of wet litter stick to the fur. It is dusty and caused runny eyes and sneezing to my Persian friend. - World's Best (Green and Red): Not good. Advised by vet after using Catsan Hygiene. It is dusty and didn't improve my cat's runny eyes much. It clumps very well, tracks a bit. Though it stinks horribly, probably because loose litter eventually starts smelling. Thus, no odour control. As such I do not remember it lasting long. - Tygerino Crystals Silicate: Used in an emergency when my order was late. Disliked bad smell. It also runs out quickly, one pack lasted for 3 days, tracks a bit.
We have 5 cats who come back in to use their tray! Used Oko Cat's Best for years as very effective and flushable. Tried this. Excellent odour control, clumps well, hardly any tracking and little dust. The previous comments about the colour... Shake the tray before picking out the lumps as this will make them obvious and reduce the liklihood of them breaking up. May appear costly but lasts, with regular scooping, and works out no dearer than the Oko per month and is also flushable.
We've been using this for about 4 months now. Its pretty good at odour control and clumps great. It does track a bit, but every litter we've ever used has tracked, so no big deal. Our female used to sometimes wee outside the box if it wasn't 100% clean, since using this, she hasn't gone outside the box. She also has asthma (that's why we tried this) and she has not had an attack since we bought this. I find its almost dust free and there is no chemical smell on it. They love scratching in it, its become an Olympic sport lately!
We are on day three of trying Nature's Calling so I figured this was a good point for a first impressions review. This litter is being used in a top entry cat litter box (Petmate) so litter tracking is almost non existent, the minimal amount gets caught on the lid! My two little dogs aren't intrested in eating it which was a big concern because they didn't only try and eat litter out the box but would would lick up any of the tracked litter. Icky! When poured there was no cloud of dust which was a issue I'd been having with Oko which was making me cough and my eyes sting. My kitty has no issues using it, he likes a sandy grainy texture that's his only requirement. I find the clumping is okay, middle of the road. Substantially better then Catsan clumping, matches Oko Cat's Best but is no where near the standard of a chick crumb litter. I can't smell the box at all wee/poo/ cat litter scent etc when the lid is on, even after use, I scoop on average twice a day. When cleaning after three days, or when fresh the litter has a odd smell which reminds me of wholemeal bread. In order to achieve optimum clumping I needed to use the whole 6kg bag in the Petmate Top Entry Box. Therefore I'd imagine that I would need two 6kg bags a month for one cat who is raw fed. I am undecided with regards to repurchasing I shall see how me and kitty feel in a couple of weeks.
Took a while for my two cats to get used to this litter, but they're more than happy using it now. Tried The World's Best before that, but both cats refused to use it at all - but it did have a rather pungent smell to that litter! There's hardly a smell to this litter though, and it clumps well although not amazingly, but it's worth it. The best thing about it is that, as it's biodegradable, I can flush it straight down the toilet (the litter trays are located in the bathrooms). It last for ages, as long as you're fairly careful to scoop properly!
Have been using this litter for about 8 months now and it's the best I've come across. Yes, it has a slight odour when it's poured fresh in the tray, but this disappears after a while. Yes, it does track a little, but not much. It clumps well for the pees tho yes, the clumps do come apart a bit but it's no problem to scoop up the little clumps. The best things though are that one tray-full lasts AGES if you are vigilant with removing the pees and poos. I use a large, deep litter tray and I only empty it out completely about once a month for disinfecting before refilling AND I put the old (not soiled) litter on the compost heap as, being from walnut shells, it's compostable. Simples!
this is the best by far. Used loads of different litters and having 8 cats cost of litter is important. This litter lasts that long that it works out cheaper than supermarket brands. Don't be put off by price. Great odour control and the least tracking of them all .
The usual litter we use is Worlds Best however this being considerably cheaper caught my attention so I gave it a go ordering three large bags. Having read other reviews I was surprised at high scores showing complete satisfaction, my findings differ somewhat. I find the litter tracks from the box it clumps, but not all together and breaks off when scooping. My preference remains the overly expensive Worlds Best.
Excellent odour control, amazingly easy to clean due to supurb absorbency and is long lasting! I've 5 cats and I've used 6kgs of this litter in one of my 4litter trays over the past week. Its as good as it was last Saturday - it smells fresh and I've cleared it out every day, so it is being used, and very little evidence of tracking! I am converted and will be moving to this from now on. Zooplus prices are much better than my local store so I'm ordering the economy packs and changing all my litter trays to Natures calling!
I've been trying to find litter which is low dust, clumping and great at odour control. I tried Catsan but wasn't happy - you can smell the litter after 2-3 days so have to constantly change it. Bear in mind I'm very diligent (i.e. it is done immediately) at removing poop and clumped pee so the littler should last a week before a complete change. I love this litter and so does Pepper. The odour control is great, the litter doesn't stick to his paws too much and as he's a little digger, the litter actually stays in the litter tray. Very happy, will continue buying!
So this is great for neutralising odours and the clumps were easy to clean out of the tray. Lasts quite a long time too. The colour is a bit unfortunate as it makes it harder to know what to dig out of the tray and when it tracks it leaves little brown specks everywhere. My flatmate was very grossed out by it so I'm currently on another litter, but when she moves I will definitely consider this one again.
I recently tried this litter as previous reviewers praise its ability to control odour. In common with other comments, I too have found that it tracks a lot and is messy. I've also discovered that urine 'pools' and isn't completely absorbed unless left in the litter tray for some time. The clumps tend to be soggy if a cat has recently used it but neither does it flush away that readily. If clumps are left for a few hours before scooping, they form solid lumps at the base of the toilet pan needing to be broken up for a total flush away. Clumping is not as good as World's Best Multi-cat litter and clumps can break up when soggy whereas World's Best hardly does. However, it has made a huge difference with odour control. I use World's Best Multi-cat litter for all the other trays in the house and bought Applaws Nature's Calling especially for one of my neutered boys who still leaves a strong urine smell, and a spayed female who passes a lot of urine. Nature's Calling has performed very well in keeping down the odours and is considerably better than World's Best for these particular two cats. Scooping out solid waste hasn't been a problem given there is sufficient light to see it. All in all, I can thoroughly recommend Nature's Calling on odour control but advise buyers to try other organic and biodegradable clumping cat litter brands and reach their own conclusions. I shall continue using this litter which, as a bonus, is considerably cheaper than World's Best but it will be limited to one litter tray only. I would actually rate the product as 'Satisfactory to Good'.
Have been using Cat's Best Oko Plus for some time but I am a convert to Nature's Calling. Better odour control and, as long as the cats are using their covered Curver litter tray, I get less litter around house (and where there is tracking, this is better disguised against my darkish carpets). Not so good with open trays. It seems easier to kick everywhere when digging.
I have 3 indoor Maine Coons, so I need a good quality litter that does not track too badly. After a month I am impressed that it does not turn to dust and clumps really well, it does track a little but to be honest there isn't a litter out there that won't.The cats like it and although you have to fish to see the solid bits as it is brown I am so far liking this better than the wheat and wood based litters. This litter is a good price and smell isn't too bad, but with 3 huge cats another miracle is required but I choose to have them and they are cleaner than kids!
This is the best litter for clumping that I have used. I use Cats Best and it is good, it does track but it's light and as it is larger, easier to vacuum. This tracked quite a bit and being such small particles is difficult to actually see but the worst part for me was the amount of dust it created. Sorry love Applaws food and the idea of the litter is brilliant but gone back to Cats Best.
Been using this for just over a month with 6 cats. Tried it because the clay litters we've used recently seem to be very dusty. Aside from the mess I don't think breathing in clay dust is good for us or the cats. We tried wood pellets for 6 months because they're lightweight but don't like the lack of clumping, and the cats weren't happy with the texture underfoot. What we've found: Lightweight 6kg bags - easy to lift. Re-sealable bags with handle for pouring - great idea. Zero dust - even at the bottom of the bag. No sickly smelling chemical odour neutralizers to put the cats off. Good odour control. Clumps urine - not quite as well as clay. Tracks but doesn't weld itself to the floor or the cat when wet. Yes it's the same colour as poop but it's very easy to sift through with a poop scoop. Lasts as long as clay because it clumps. We ran 3 litters with wood pellets alongside 3 litters with Applaws - all six preferred the Applaws from day 1 and shunned the pellets. We found our cats prefer a 3" deep layer so they can dig. Mid-range priced litter, it's definitely worth it. It gives you the best features of both pellets and clay with none of their downsides
This cat litter is the same colour as cat poo! so makes it difficult to see easily where your cat has been! It does track too & its bags are quite heavy. The good thing about this litter is it does clump well. So I wont be using this again as wood based cat litters are lighter & easier to see when your cats have used their tray.
My in-door semi long haired cat is very happy with this litter. Hides smells very well. Clumps brilliantly. There is tracking, but putting a mat in front of the tray helps this. I recommend putting a deep layer in the tray. The only slight problem is as the litter is dark brown, if your cat like mine covers her poo really well it can be like a treasure hunt! But it lasts a very long time so this alone more than makes up for the price. My cat loves Applaws food (the only food she will eat!) & now loves their litter, a real Applaws cat. Highly recommended.
