Ferplast Outdoor Cat Litter Tray

I was surprised how quickly our mainly indoor cat (Liza) started to use this covered tray. Less mess with litter particles outside tray, now just in front at entrance. My plan is, when weather improves, to move tray outside and, hopefully Liza will follow - fingers crossed!

The size is great but there are no clips attaching the lid to the base so you will chase it round your garden if it's outdoors, iv had to duct tape mine down. No good for wind as its so light so not the best outdoor option but fantastic for a large cat indoor!

It's fine, but the plastic is very thin, so the cats can't stand on the lid without it bending under them, and the lid is fiddly to get on and off. This tray is nothing like as good as the old Marchioro outdoor trays that Zooplus used to sell.

Both of my cats use a Ferplast outdoor litter box every day whatever the weather.I have 2 indoor boxes also.One cat actually prefers using the ferplast outdoor box😸.The heavy wind/rain storms we've had it's not once been wet or damp inside nor has it been blown about or moved. I use Tigerino Huggies litter😺Once it's out in the garden you can forget about it until cleaning out time, it's a good tough box and I'm about to buy another Ferplast box. I highly recommend the Ferplast outdoor box.😺

Finally a cat litter tray that stays dry from the rain!! After trying many different trays and ways to keep the litter dry from the elements as they are housed on my balcony these ones finally do just that. Both cats took to using them straight away too. One of my cats is a large cat so has to stoop to enter it but it has not deterred him one bit. The lid fits on the base easily, no locks yet stays put and they are low enough to fit under things too.

I bought this for my two cats (who will share a litter tray) as I didn't want them fouling gardens. We kept it in the house for a few days for them to get used to it. They loved it. We placed it outside without changing the cat litter for them to get the scent and started using it straight away. We use clumping cat litter and even though it has rained since it was put outside the cat litter has not clumped. Totally rainprooof. No problems with the fit of the lid. Highly recommend.

I bought this litter box to use in my cat proofed garden. I have two large Maine Coons, a large British shorthair And a small female domestic shorthair. They all love this toilet option! The three large males will ask to go out to the garden to use this box before the indoor options. It has been out in my garden throughout the worst of the winter months and is perfect. It does not get full of rain water and it has not blown around the garden in any winds. The box is roomy for my largest cat.

I bought this for my stud cats enclosed garden as prefers going outside to using one in his cabin. He has no trouble getting in and out, the lid stays on well although has no securing clips and it is plenty big enough. Only slight drawbacks are that slightly flimsy for its size and hence need to take care when washing it and carrying it full but not a major problem. The lid can be a little tricky to fit back on but again not a significant drawback. Overall a very good weatherproof tray.

Shame the design has been changed, used to be decent strong blue base tray and hood was made well too, now its the thin plastic that I can see will end up cracking

Having a number of cats that have access to large enclosed back garden they now have a number of these trays around garden.

I have indoor cats and they have a large outdoor pen that they use. Previously I was using a normal tray and having to run out to get it every time it rained and keep putting it away at night but with this, it is just left out permanently. They took to it straight away. Excellent product

This tray is a life saver for using outdoors and also provides a HUGE pan if you want to use it indoors without the lid. I have used other outdoor trays that are more expensive and this is much better all round.

I have it on a terrace, I bought two, but the entrance is small and my cat is a large breed, he doesn’t want to go in. I’m not sure if it’s because he doesn’t fit or because he’s scared by how small the entrance is. So he does his business outside. The best thing is a covered litter box and try to put it somewhere where it doesn’t get too much rain on rainy days. Also, tape up any ventilation gaps it might have. Because this litter box is a big contraption, it takes up a lot of space but the entrance is narrow.

The tub has side grooves that don’t match up with the lid, so the top part doesn’t attach securely to the tray. Gusts of wind have often blown the lid off, letting rain fall onto the sand.

The lid doesn’t fit the base, so basically it’s impossible to close the litter box—you can only REST THE LID ON THE BASE. In fact, with the first gust of wind, the LID flies off. Honestly, it feels more like a scam.

Works fine really, except that the lid blows off since, unlike indoor litter boxes, there aren’t any clips on the sides to fasten the lid. That’s pretty annoying, so I have to put a stone on top to stop the lid from blowing away..🙄
