alicante cat tree

Have owned it for several weeks, kitten loves it, but our older cat not so interested. Not as stable as I thought it would be, I think that is why the older cat is not so keen (it wobbles a bit). Quite difficult to put together as one of the screws wasn't long enough to connect the cosy den, luckily I had another screw that fitted.

Doesn't match the photo

I would have loved to get the scratcher from the photo, honestly. Instead, I got one that's similar. I say similar because even though the scratcher is the same, the paw prints from the photo aren't there and the colour is much lighter.

A bit disappointed

Good, but the finishing is poor. The sisal on the posts is held in place, maybe for extra strength?, with staples that are visible. So it doesn’t look very nice, and it doesn’t look like a branded cat tree either. There’s also no cover to put over the only visible screw. I took one from my old cat tree, which wasn’t branded but had one. No toy either, even just one would have been nice. Also, there are no paw prints on it, as described and shown in the photos.

Alicante triple scratching post

My cats love this scratching post—the layout of the shelves, the height, and the little cave are all PERFECT. We’re already on our fifth one of the same kind. And that’s where the problem is: this is our fifth because the scratching post is really poorly made and wears out quickly. The rope comes off and I have to glue it back myself with a hot glue gun, the fabric tears easily, the posts are ridiculously thin, and the screw that attaches the lowest shelf to the cave barely holds it in place—it falls out, damages the board, and wobbles. The whole thing starts shaking after a short while and you have to keep tightening all the screws. SUCH A SHAME.

Unstable, thin string and falls apart.

The posts are really light, which means they’re not stable at all, unlike other Tricie scratchers. It’s a shame, there’s just no quality here. I’ve got bits of plush all over the house and on my cat’s toys. The rope is really thin too. My cat loves to scratch a lot… this won’t last him. I bought this brand for the quality, but it’s definitely gone downhill.

Unstable and very thin rope.

I found it really strange how light the box was for its size, and the thing is, I’ve had other Tricie scratchers that were smaller but heavier, which in my opinion is what gives them sturdiness and stability. With this one, the posts are basically like cardboard, the rope is quite thin, and when my cat tries to climb to the highest platform, it wobbles. Neither my cat nor I feel confident about it. I think with how unstable it is and how thin the rope is, it won’t last as long as others.
