Great flap, awesome customer service
These flaps work very well -- I have two, on different doors, which allow us to feed our cats separately, due to diet restrictions. The flaps are well-built and reliable, and have a long battery life. However, we have one particularly cunning neighbourhood cat who managed to defeat the security mechanism and break in. I emailed Sureflap, more to let them know than with any hopes they'd be able to assist. They were friendly and helpful, and extremely concerned about the problem. They sent me first a pair of prototypes of their new dual-locking flaps, and then two of the final product, at their own expense. I can recommend these flaps without hesitation, both for the product itself and for Sureflap's outstanding customer support.

Works very well
The flat works very well. My cats got very quickly used to it. The batteries last long too and the flap itself is very good quality. It keeps other cats out. Would by it again.

Almost perfect
I have had one of these for a year now. We had trouble with feral farm cats getting in and this device stopped them for a while. Our cats love to poke their heads in and make the electric switch click, this runs down the batteries in about 4 months. No big deal. The main problem is the the bottom of the door does not have enough mass to positvely close after each cat passes so, on a windy day it can remain just unlatched. That's enough for Ginger Tom from the farm to dive in and cause havoc. I solved this by putting some sticky backe lead tyre balancing weights on the bottom of the door. Now it closes every time, denying GT his spary fest.

Great investment
Originally I was going to buy one of those magnetic cat doors, but I am so glad I saw sureflap advertised. It is great not having to worry about my cat loosing her collar (with magnet attached) and being stuck outside until I get home...and she somehow does manage to loose it regularly! It is also great having a cat door that restricts which pet can come inside as with my old cat door, I was constantly having to chase my neighbours cats outside as it would sneak in to scoff down the cat food. The sureflap was easy install and it didn't take too much coaxing for my cat to get used to it (she is only six months old so had never used a cat door before). I quite like the clicking sound it makes when it reads the microchip as I can monitor when my cat is coming and going. For me, the sureflap cat door is definitely worth the money.

I wish I had bought one of these years ago....
I've had one of the SureFlap cat flaps for two weeks and so far it has been amazing.. It was easy to fit as the hole from my previous CatMate cat flap was exactly the same size.. I did not programme it first but as soon as it was fitted I put it in it's memory mode by just pushing one button.. I sat by it to make sure it was my cat that was first through and as he passed through with little coaxing it clicked, turned off the memory mode and locked behind him and he has been using it ever since as if it had always been there, locking up behind himself each time!! The two nuisance next door cats have attempted entry several times without success and now seem to have given up and watch bewildered as my cat lets himself in.. I can also hear the click when my cat comes in at night while I am in bed.. Brilliant.. A magic piece of kit.. Highly recommended....

BEST INVESTMENT EVER.
Bought this to replace a bog standard cat flap, which had all the inherent problems of other cats coming in and eating my cats food and spraying. Easy to install and set up,it fitted into the existing space left by the old cat flap. If anyone asked me for a recommendation with regards to buying a cat flap, this product would be the one I would recommend, cannot praise it highly enough. Well worth the money.

Worth the extra money
After unwelcome visitors and endless lost collars and magnets, I bought this to replace a Staywell cat flap. It was very easy to fit - same size hole and screw positions as the Staywell. Uses two AA batteries and has a light to indicate when they need changing. My two cats took to using it straight away and the problem cat is permanently excluded. Highly recommended.

no more unwanted visitors
I bought a SureFlap Cat Flap over a year ago and it's been one of my best cat related purchases ever,no collars and tags to lose and no more neighbours cats coming in and eating my cats food or spraying in the house. The only fault I found was that any cat can get out which proved a problem when I had a little kitten who was desperate to get outside to join my other cats but was way too young and hadn't completed his vaccinations.

metal magnet
i have the sureflap and was delighted with it but now the piece of metal which acts as the magnet has gone so the flap blows and bangs with the slightest bit of wind not happy so much now as its been very drafty through this winter

fat tabby + kitten
Excellent for keeping neighbouring cats away... Until you lock the flap so your cats can come in but your kitten (and cats) are not allowed out. Ideal for cats being kept in at night but come home at different times. When my male cat of 5 years was suddenly not allowed out when the kitten came along he managed to figure out how to escape! He paws and paws at the flap until the button at the front pushes down, then hooks his claws under the flap and opens it up towards him! Very funny at first as we couldn't work out how he got out. Then I saw him with my own eyes. Still wasn't a problem as only the kitten needed to be inside... Until she learnt from him how to do it! Now have to use full lock which isn't as useful. Batteries really do last about 6mths, I wasn't expecting that. Great product, could do with tweaking- aimed at clever kitties!
IF your cat is 5.5kg + would suggest this may be too small. My 6kg cat gets thro it but only just!

Fantastic...a must buy!
After months of problems with a local Tom cat entering our house, spraying everywhere and frightening our cats, we discovered this microchip flap. It is fantastic and I recommend it to everyone! Easy to fit and very simple to programme. We have had ours for 12 months and it is still using the original batteries. I will never ever go back to the old style flaps again!

An awesome product
It's such a great idea. Putting the microchip on your cat to a further use. Prevents other cats coming in, but if you leave your back door open and one gets in, it can get OUT without problem. Easy to set up, no draughts coming in. Gives cat confidence when running away from a chaser!
They kind of tease next door's cats by getting in and looking at them. If you use it in a double glazed unit you will need to purchase a DOUBLE GLAZED GLASS PANEL with the hole made in it. It cannot be put into double glazing unless you do.
The cavity would break down and leak.

Sureflap freedom
I had the SureFlap Microchip Cat flap installed a couple of weeks ago. It took half an hour including cutting the hole and fixing the flap in place. After a reluctant start, my cat realised this way was freedom... She soon learned the cat flap was her own front door. The microchip recognition was easy to achieve even with a reluctant cat. Cat treats worked a dream and soon I could hear the gentle flip flop as exit and entry were acomplished to perfection. It has made life much easier for both of us particularly when we have the reassurance that only my cat can get in and out of our house. I highly recommend this product.

cat flap
The kittens took to using this straight away, it was fairly easy to fit in our wooden door. It would be better if it was a little bit larger now they have grown into cats. They also sit near it when its raining so it clicks because it senses them. On the whole great peace of mind because you know only your cats can enter and they are not locked out if they lose their collar (which is often)and you dont have to keep replacing collar magnets.

Super Cat Flap
This is a quality product that works exactly as it says on the tin. Easy to register your cat with it, just push the button and shove your cat through! No more cats from up the road coming in to bully your cat, steal food or spray on the wallpaper! The built in tunnel is a nice touch and you can get extenders if mounting on a thick wall. The catch releases very quickly when your cat gets within range and stays down if the cat hesitates before coming through. Brilliant. Worth every penny. Our cats feel safe in their own home now.

Slipped Chip
Ok make no mistake, both our moggies love this device that has run happily for at least 4 years now and has made our home a peaceful place. We have clearly recouped the cost of the flap in unstolan cat food. We have always experienced very good support when we have phoned up with minor issues such as the sensor getting dirty with fur or the lock literally freezing one winter.
Our last issue was bizarre . One cat all of a sudden could not get in. Tried everything. Support said it must be the cats chip. Vet said no way. Healthy cat goes to vets and is now chipped for a second time since the first had travelled deep into her shoulder and the fap could not sense it. So peace is resorted once more.

Not so suitable for large cats
We bought this as the ideal solution to stop a local stray Tom from coming in and spraying the house. Managed to get one cat's chip recognised without problem, but the other cat who is of a larger size (7+kg) struggled with it on two counts. Firstly he found it difficult to belly crawl through the smaller inner square aperture of the flap (although the outer tunnel is larger, the inner flap narrows at the bottom to a square), and also his microchip is placed far enough down his upper back that the flap did not register the chip even when his nose was firmly squashed against the flap trying to open it. It was amusing to watch his efforts, but in fairness it was not suitable for big Boy!
Zooplus, to their credit, agreed to return and refund without issue.

Brilliant!
I cannot believe I waited so long to get this. It has really changed my life, and that of my cat. He has already started to put on weight and look and act much brighter, since we both realise no other cat can now invade his territory and steal his food. It took only about 15 minutes to set up, install and get him used to it and we never looked back. An absolutely brilliant solution.
