SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap

I had the SureFlap Microchip Cat flap installed a couple of weeks ago. It took half an hour including cutting the hole and fixing the flap in place. After a reluctant start, my cat realised this way was freedom... She soon learned the cat flap was her own front door. The microchip recognition was easy to achieve even with a reluctant cat. Cat treats worked a dream and soon I could hear the gentle flip flop as exit and entry were acomplished to perfection. It has made life much easier for both of us particularly when we have the reassurance that only my cat can get in and out of our house. I highly recommend this product.

The kittens took to using this straight away, it was fairly easy to fit in our wooden door. It would be better if it was a little bit larger now they have grown into cats. They also sit near it when its raining so it clicks because it senses them. On the whole great peace of mind because you know only your cats can enter and they are not locked out if they lose their collar (which is often)and you dont have to keep replacing collar magnets.

I cannot believe I waited so long to get this. It has really changed my life, and that of my cat. He has already started to put on weight and look and act much brighter, since we both realise no other cat can now invade his territory and steal his food. It took only about 15 minutes to set up, install and get him used to it and we never looked back. An absolutely brilliant solution.

This is good for indoor cats also. You can allow skinny cats into a room where they can nibble on food all day while excluding fat cats that need measured feedings! It works great, was easy to program, and I was able to install it on my own without needing help from another person.

Just recently we had a stray coming & eating all the food but no longer with the microhip cat flap. Firstly I programmed it to respond to the cats chips just to make sure it worked then it fitted perfectly into my existing cat flap hole. It is a bit of a squeeze for my 5kg very fluffy cat but he does manage ok. Wish these had been around years ago.

I decided on this model this after some research on electronic catflaps and after 2 months of use by 4 cats I am really pleased with this! It's sturdy and well built, battery operated (which avoids any unsafe cable mess), and the chip-reader mechanism is very reliable. The kitties are very happy with it too! Recommended.

Easy to order from Sweden! My cat could use it from day one! Easy to program and easy to assemble into the door. He loves it! And it feels great for me too, to know that he can be the independent cat as they are meant to be! So what are You waiting for! ;)

This is the second one I've ordered because the first one couldn't hold the battery charge anymore. So, I've had it since 2008, and now it's 2026, and thanks to their microchips, my three cats can use the cat flap. No other cat can get in or out, even though the latest cat flap allows a cat that might have accidentally followed one of mine inside to leave, but that's never happened. I don't understand the negative reviews—personally, I think it's great.

The cat flap opens from the inside without any problems. From outside to inside, it should react to the chip immediately and open. But it doesn’t do that. It opens with a big delay, so my tomcat won’t go from outside to inside. Unfortunately, I’m not satisfied.

Works just as described. All the cats got used to the feeders very quickly. All it took was putting their favourite pouch inside and letting them sniff it. They knew it was there, just had to figure out how to get to it. A couple of times they jumped when the lid opened, but their desire for their favourite pouch was stronger. There's no smell of food at all in the flat. I already have 3 feeders for cats on different diets (one tomcat on urinary, another tomcat on no special diet, and two cats on gastrointestinal).

Cat flap in use with 2 cats for 11 years. Scanning the microchips is easy to understand and do, the flap was installed quickly and works reliably. After 11 years, the 4-way lock has worn out and falls out if a cat goes through too quickly. Had a chat with extremely friendly customer service, and now they're sending me a replacement lock free of charge. There really is still quality and service in Germany. Thanks.

We've been looking for days now because the hatch's post-installation programming isn't working when our cat wants to come in 🤢

Now on our third cat flap in five years. At first it works fine, but after about a year and a half it starts draining the batteries. Now I have to replace the batteries every day.

Just doesn't work, plain and simple.

A cat from outside pulls the flap to the side with its claws to open it and slips into the house. It has damaged the felt around the cat door. Problem with no solution!..

The cat flap only worked for a couple of weeks before it stopped reading the chip. We've had the chip checked by the vet and it's sitting perfectly readable in the cat's neck. We've also changed the batteries, but that didn't help. This is the second cat flap we've had that has stopped working.
