I bought this as our usual oko plus was out of stock. This corn litter has a similar texture and appearance and clumps very well but it smells awful once it is wet. Even if you clean it out straight after it has been used the smell permeates the whole room. I wont buy this again!
Having previously bought this cat litter and found it to be a good cheaper alternative to Cats Best Nature Gold, my recent bag of litter was incredibly dusty. I eventually resorted to sieving what was remaining in the bag. We've had two events of 'accidents' elsewhere in the house and I'm wondering if it's a result of a dislike of the litter. It clumps well, but maybe too well and does tend to stick to the bottom of the tray. I think I will pay that little bit more and return to Cats Best.
Best things about it: no tracking, nice hard lumps easy to scoop up
Worst things about it: it really smells of ammonia in a very short time, flushing it blocks your toilet because it forms such hard lumps, it's hard to scoop up when it's stuck to the bottom and it would break a plastic scoop, I had never seen mould in cat litter before but wee lumps become actually mouldy in two days with this litter if you don't scrape the bottom carefully.
I had high hopes for this litter, espcially for my kittens. To be honest it clumps beutifully, no dust fantastic and stays very clean BUT.....the smell is revolting! I would give this litter 5+ stars if it were not for the sour odour I can smell all over the house, even though the litterboxes are in the kitten room upstairs. Sea Breeze ..more like sour milk and meat!!
I liked the idea of fresh grass smell but once it has been pee'd on by the cats, it is pretty disgusting.
I do like Super Benek Corn Cat so now simply buy the 26kg bags instead.
Further to my previous review have been using this litter for several months. Usually I use deep litter but their vigorous scratching makes the litter go powdery within a couple of days and footprints land on furniture. I now use less litter in their trays - but still the powder - so lots of waste. I shall continue using it as only one I know that doesn't affect me with the dust! Anyone know of another litter that is dust free please contact me.
Reading the description this was the best litter i could find for many reasons, it's eco friendly, flusheable, easy on kittys paws and affordable however the perfumed smell really put my kitty off using it. It smells nice at first but once it has been used the perfume reacts with the urine and creates a hideous ammonia smell that caused my kitty to start using my rug instead. It's a real shame since other than the smell this product would be perfect.
I bought the three 7ltr bags. The bags were a handy size, great price considering the prices of the other corn types and it smelt just wonderful when you opened the bag.
Unfortunately it just didn't clump well at all :| wherever I pulled the handle on my smart sift littertray, the poops just stuck to the grate and most of the litter just fell to the bottom of the box. I found litter all over the area the box is and it smelled very strong of urine.
Just not great for a mechanical litter tray but would be great as a standard litter :)
Tried this and the Sea Breeze scent when World's Best was out of stock. Acceptable, but used far more of it, the scent did not mask as well and it scatters more. Clumps do not lift out in a clean lump and liquid sinks right to the bottom, turning the grains to powder, so more wastage and stronger smell of pee. Will stick to World's Best Lavender or Multicat, more economical and cleaner in use, cats prefer it and it covers smells better.
This litter does what it says, it's very absorbent and flushes well. The only problem is the dust, my bathroom floor is absolutely covered in paw prints and as it's a black floor that isn't ideal at all. Every time my cat uses the litter box I have to wipe all the paw prints away.
It's a shame as otherwise I'd have used it again as it doesn't track like a lot of the other litter does. I won't use it again due to the amount of dust though.
I tried this as I use Greenwoods now. It was on special offer from zooplus. It works much the same as the Greenwoods. However I prefer the Greenwoods because I can scoop that easily out of the litter tray. I found the Super Benek sets rather like concrete at the bottom of the litter tray and I have to 'chip' it out. It all depends what you prefer.
This litter clumps really nicely. It's pretty dusty, I keep finding footprints and dusty butt prints around the house. It doesn't seem to soak up the pee very quickly and during the week the cats have been using it there's been a number of wet paw incidents.I'll be switching back to Biokat.
Tried this to see if we could save some money from using World's Best since both are "corn based", but they're anything alike.
The granules are large which the cats don't like too much, they prefer sand style litter, but the upside is there is less tracking.
However the real problem is the clumps are very large and mushy - like wet paper - so we up throwing out a lot more when cleaning the tray. A bag of this ends up lasting about 1/3 of what World's Best lasts and it's messier too as it sticks more to the walls.
It is cheap and less sticky than other litter in this price range. I'd probably buy it if I had not tried the "Rolls Royce" of litter...
