Cat's Best Original Cat litter

Plus points of Cats Best Oko Plus: 1. My 2 oriental type cats prefer this litter. 2. Natural product, non toxic, safe for my cats. 3. Masks odours very well and has a pleasant, natural woody/pine smell. 4. Clumps well and is easy to deal with. 5. Environmentally friendly and biodegradeable. Minus points of Cats Best Oko Plus: 1. Tracks a lot. Even though I have a large mat by the tray, I am sweeping up bits of cat litter two or three times a day and still finds bits on the carpet and sometimes even upstairs. 2. It is a bit dusty. 3. I find that it does not last anywhere near as long as the manufacturer states. I use a jumbo sized litter tray, which gives my cats room to turn around. It takes 5 litres of litter each time and I change the tray completely every 5 to 7 days. I have read other reviews which advise that you can save the litter after removing the clumps and put it back in the tray after cleaning, but personally, I don't and wouldn't do this. A 10 litre bag lasts my 2 cats a maximum of 2 weeks. I have recently tried the Cats Best Gold litter, which is in pellet form rather than chips, designed not to cling to the fur of long haired cats. I would also give that 4 stars. It does not track anywhere near as much as the original and is not so dusty and possibly lasts a day or so longer between complete changes as it does not break down so quickly, however, my cats don't seem to like the feel of it under their paws quite so much and we have much (noisy) raking in the litter tray and it is a little more expensive than the ordinary Cats Best Oko Plus. Overall, both are good, but have their advantages and drawbacks. You pays your money and you makes your choice.

After reading all these reviews (which were a mixture of good and bad) and looking for a litter that wasn't clay based (used 'Litter Purrfect' from cost co. for last 4 years) we decided to give this one a try.. sadly disappointed with the results. with our old litter we used to find bits over the kitchen floor and sometimes on work units..but this ended up everywhere..and I mean everywhere! even upstairs! (we can only think it's because they're long haired maine coons) the clumps crumble when you're trying to shake the unused bits from the scoop and it doesn't disguise the smell neither. So if you have 1 or 2 short haired cats this may be suitable for you, but we will definately be going back to our old litter which is excellent at clumping and disguising the smell. Mental note to self..don't keep trying different litters because I don't think we'll find one better than litter purrfect!

Must be one of the best clump forming low odour litters around.Swear by it!. We use two types.Oko for wee and a clay based granulated for pooh.Cats seem to know which one to use and works well for us. Flush it if you want, but put ours in the re-cycle bin.

I would have given this product five stars because it's the best litter I've ever used. The only little minus comes from tracking: it's lightweight and therefore it gets quite easily outside the litter box. But, it clumps well, keeps the smells away a lot better than average litters, is biodegradable, lightweight and very economical. I definitely recommend this litter.

This is the best cat litter I have ever used. Clumps perfectly, no smells, lasts for ages, cats love it. Really can't be beat and very good value price on zooplus

I've been using this litter for over a year now, but I'm back to looking for something better. The main thing for me is the lack of odour control, especially after "big business". Also, the clumps are not very tight and sometimes crumble, and stick quite a lot to the bottom. This, I believe, is why the litter box starts smelling after a week at the latest, despite regular scooping: some of the soiled litter always stays behind. Considering the frequent complete litter replacement, it's actually quite expensive. Minor complaints are the dust (not too bad) and tracking (quite bad). Having said all this, I have yet to find something better (have tried and rejected silicate granules and regular betonite clumping litter). Next on the list to try is Porta Pine...

I've tried every single cat litter there is on our local petshop, but disappointed on erevy one of them. Then I heard about Öko Plus, and wanted to try it, and you don't know how amazed I was! It's the best cat litter I've seen! I love it, my cats love it. It's ecological,economical and easy to use. I used to hate to clean up the litterbox when there was claybased litter, because the clumps udes to stick on the bottom and sides of the box. But with Öko, thats not a problem, the clumps are easy to remove and they don't fall to pieces as easily as the clay-based litter. It's true that Öko tracks a bit, but so does every litter I've tried. Alltogether, Öko Plus is perfect for us, won't buy anything else!

I have two BSH's and have worried about getting clumping due to rumours of health problems. After being frustrated trying all the odour absorbing litters on the pet store and still hving to bleach the two jumbo trays every 3 days I gave in and started trialling clumping litters. I hate the smell of sawdust/wet wood so tried all the others before I finally gave in and got this. It's fabulous. I can't believe how long it lasts. Granted nothing covers the smell of poop and my boys are very stinky but I sift it many times per day. The smell of sawdust is minimal and far preferable than the smell of catsan after 2 days. Yes it tracks but I sweep the bathroom floor regularly and I'd rather that than litter smell. My only complaint is it lasts so long I struggle to bleach my trays as often as I like plus I wish I'd discovered it before I invested in a litter locker as it's flushable.

Both of my lovely british short hairs love this stuff! It's not just a litter that flushes down the loo and doesn't smell, it's economical too and great fun for the two rascals because they love messing about with it :-) it does track around the flat a bit but with dail;y sweeping it really is no bother at all. I highly recomment this stuff and will buy again and again.

I mix mine with a 1/3 recycled paper base cat litter. it clumps very well and is so easy to remove. The smells have disappeared, my two cats love it. it can be a bit messy, mainly because one of my cats likes to dig and dig. It works out very cheap, a bag seems to last for a very long time, I won't be changing my cat litter again.

This litter is very good, there is very little smell from it but it does track everywhere. Really easy to use as you can just flush the used stuff down the loo - good value for money

Great stuff no odours at all, i have also switched from woodshavings in my house rabbits cage because it smelt awful to oko plus and there are no odours from his cage and doesnt need cleaning no where near as much!

After having used several other types of litter I have finally found one that can't be beaten. Cats Best Oko Plus is amazing value for money, easy to use, highly economical and does hide a lot of smells. The only downside is that it does track a bit but I wouldn't let that tiny fact interfere with it's ability. If you haven't tried it before now, what are you waiting for...

This is dreadful stuff. It gets caught up in the cats' claws and can be found in every part of the house. Mind you, the cats like it because they have great fun scratching up piles of it and spreading them in all directions. Nor is it particularly economical because it forms enormous damp clumps which have to be removed. Much as the cats will no doubt miss their fun, I am going back to Catsan.

I bought this with hesitation despite the glowing reviews, as I've always used litter such as Pettex and thought this would be messy and not clump. However, it is a lot less smelly and so easy to remove the dirty litter in clumps. The remaining litter is clean. I'm using it in the Gimpet Deluxe dirt tray (also excellent) and although it is much lighter than Pettex and tracks a bit, I still think the plus points outweigh this. The best positive is that I can flush dirt down the toilet (with a couple of flushes). This has saved on loads of small plastic nappy bags filled with cat dirt being put into bigger bin liners...which then split under the weight.. as with four cats there is a lot of dirt! I just wish this litter was widely available in the UK, because as much as I love Zooplus, getting the huge 40L bag delivered can be a bit of a pain if you're not in or the bag tears enroute (which did last time but sorted out by zooplus). I may buy the smaller bags next time as it would be easier to store. Excellent product, highly recommend.

I had been using cheap litter from from a value supermarket and an open litter tray for 1 adolescent cat. It wasn't too bad. Then I purchased a jumbo cat toilet from zooplus and some of this oko plus litter. Oh my god...after one use I was convinced my cat had gone to the loo on the carpet, because the smell was awful, I mean it couldn't have been any worse if he had done a poo on my lap. Granted it clumps and absorbs well, but does absolutely nothing for the smell. Perhaps my cat has more foul smelling poo than the other users, or something? Also it tracks everywhere despite having a grated catch tray at the exit of the toilet. It sticks to the paws, fur and every part of the the cat that touches it. I'm not surprised it got stuck in one user's cat's eye. My house is now a mesy smelly place. Fortunately my cat will always look to go outside to the loo before using the tray, but for a lot of people this isn't an option. My verdict..avoid and try something else.

Over the years I have tried every type of litter. Before trying Cats Best I tried ultra clumping clay litters. Some were OK but others disintegrated when removing the clumps. Somebody recommended Cats Best and I was skeptical but now use it for all 4 litter trays. It clumps very well and there are no smells (as long as solids are removed) As only the dirty litter is removed, it is very economical. A bag lasts over a month (per tray). It is also very light so easy to dispose of. They say it can be flushed but I don't recommend it as it can block the toilet. It is eco-friendly which is a bonus.

I have had cats all my life and used a lot of different cat litters but this is the best i have came across certaintly will not be changing from this one it does as it actually says.

This stuff is great. I have two indoor cats and the 10l bag lasts me just under two months. It has a gentle pine scent, which although subtle, REALLY covers the smell of any 'number two's! It clumps well and compared to the clay based clumping litter I used to use, really absorbs all liquid without congealing into a gooey mess. Love it!

We’re really happy with the litter – it clumps very well and lasts a long time, since you don’t have to empty the whole tray all the time. It does create a bit of dust, but it’s sooo much more pleasant than other types of litter we’ve used before. We’re very satisfied :)

It clumps well, but since it's fine, the cats easily carry it everywhere because it sticks to their paws and fur. It's not scented and made from natural materials, which is good. But lately, there's been a lot of dust in the bag. When I first started ordering, it wasn't this dusty. Now, by the time the bag is finished, there's a thick layer of dust at the bottom. Obviously, this ends up in the litter and around the house too. The cats like it though, because it's more comfortable to walk and dig in than the bigger pellet-shaped pieces.

It used to be good years ago, but now it's ridiculously expensive and the quality has dropped so much that it smells bad, doesn't clump, and turns to dust by the second day. My cats don't want it anymore and I'm not surprised. The whole house smells awful and that's another customer they've lost.

A bit like porridge oats mixed with Portland cement. The clumping is just a mess.

The product is very good, but it was delivered in damaged packaging. The box was intact, so they packed the cat litter with a torn bag. Such behaviour is not appropriate for a reputable company.

I've been using this cat litter for quite a while now. It's very economical, absorbs liquid well, and offers great value for money. The product was delivered very quickly and was well packed in a sturdy box, which is another big plus for the seller, Zooplus. I'll be happy to order again.

I bought this litter on the recommendation of friends who use it and praised its quality a lot. Unfortunately, for me and my cats, it turned out to be a nightmare. The litter was tracked not only all over the bathroom but throughout the entire flat, even though I had a special mat in front of the litter box. It looks like oat flakes and even behaves similarly when it gets wet. It doesn’t clump; yes, it forms a ball, but it’s muddy. It sticks to the bottom of the litter box and falls apart when the cat digs in it. I do not recommend it.

Nice budget cat litter, clumps well but the downside is that it sticks to the cats' paws and gets tracked around the house.

The bin stays clean for longer and can go in the green waste. Brilliant.

I wanted to try this product to have a more natural smell from the litter and less dust in the bathroom. Unfortunately, it ended up disappointing me overall. The scent is indeed very pleasant, but it doesn't absorb urine well enough, so everything breaks up into small chunks when you try to remove it with the scoop.

I've been using this litter for four years and was always satisfied. It used to clump well, was economical, trapped odours effectively, and didn't create dust. Now, however, it just has an unpleasant smell, even if you scoop the tray every day and add fresh litter. When filling it, it gets dusty, and the clumps fall apart when scooping. After only a short time, the tray is more dust than litter. Unfortunately, I really can't recommend it anymore.

Our first packs were really impressive. These days, we steer clear of it. Unfortunately, it smells absolutely awful, creates a huge mess, and it doesn't clump anymore either. There are much better alternatives out there!

I've been using this litter for over 10 years. The last two bags, though, the quality has really gone downhill. The litter is darker now and much less absorbent. The clumps fall apart and dirty the rest of the clean litter, which makes it smell bad really quickly. Not great for automatic litter boxes. Time to look for an alternative.

The best cat litter I've ever had, I recommend it.

It clumps well and doesn’t create much dust. If you clean the litter box regularly, it doesn’t smell. Some gets carried out on their paws, but with daily sweeping around the toilet, it’s not a problem. Our cats don’t like scented litter, so this is perfect for them.

It's just a shame that zooplus packs it in a big box. It would easily fit in a slightly smaller one if the top packaging was bent. And it makes a difference to me, because I prefer to collect my deliveries from the parcel locker.

I’ve seen that other people have had the same experience as me. I bought it for two years, it was really excellent. For months now, it’s not the same anymore. It DOESN’T CLUMP anymore. As for the smell, unfortunately I’ll have to try again because I bought a similar one, but the bad odour isn’t neutralised.
